I'm not sure where I'm supposed to post about this, but considering he moved from Jagex I thought I'd put it in here. He has moved from Jagex Game Studios to Social Gaming and works as Studio Director there. I'm not sure if anyone else has posted about this, I don't think they have but I took this from his Twitter page. Still no explanation really as to why he left/got fired.
Max
It was posted that he was working at Playfish I think. Where is your source or is that another name of the same company?

Sounds intresting.
Seems like they do mobile phone games e.t.c
You think this is the company he's on about?
Fatalysm
If you go here: http://twitter.com/olifiers and take a look at his Bio that is where I found this information.
Flatypus
Ooh, I didn't know this.
Personally, I think it sounds like a step backwards. But I don't know much about many gaming companies.

A bit unrelated, but he's still following Jagex, so maybe he's still interested, thus didn't get fired?

And yeah, they make games, I ran into a couple on Verizon's store once.

^ henrique posted in the topic "Henrique no longer works for jagex" saying he resigned but Jagex asked MSW to delete a lot of posts removing all sources of it ever happening :p.

Maybe now he is waiting to see how his big project codenamed MechScape is turning out. Now he is our boat. :P

Yup he's telling the truth and I think they were deleted.
DjIceman
But... what did he say?

I and a bunch of other people got a pm from either pc or ren (I forgot) (how flattering) saying our posts got deleted and that we should not repost them.

See below, we're not allowed to say what the posts were. It happened, trust me, but apparently, we're not really supposed to talk about it.

ever read 1984? Large world government manually deletes all out-dated or possible-bad-name-causing media.

Is it because we had a misunderstanding? Or because they don't wana talk about it? Or should I shut my mouth right now?
DjIceman
Who says you ever told me anything? :P After all, Ren and PC can't check our MSN, Yahoo!, etc. messages. :D *hint hint*

I know you're mostly joking, but in the off-chance you aren't; I like to respect peoples wishes.

We can't say what the posts said. Just gotta trust us. ;<

This is seriously making me believe that MechScape will be set back. I don't understand any explanation for this and it appears the only one that was up was removed SO I'm suspecting the negative. I don't know crap and that what bothers me right now.

Exactly! It bothers me as well. The fact that I don't know what he said, what is it that happened, just bothers me.

It's not like there's a law that says you cannot say it. Ok, don't repost it here, but you could still let others who are interested know. I think you should, and I also think it's fair.

Thank you

i feel "lucky" to have read all the posts that got deleted :p (including mine which didn't deserve it :( )

but i think i'm allowed to say that mod mmg made a mock of things in his clan chat which is why the posts were asked to be deleted.

it was intresting but i think i've said enough.
scifire
We were asked not to talk about it. It was between the two parties involved. Henrique did said on this forum that he resigned.

Here is what I'd posted about his new job on an earlier thread:

QUOTE
From twitter: Bio Studio Director, social gaming!
From LinkedIn: Studio Director at Playfish

Interestingly, Playfish is rumored to have been purchased by EA. http://www.businessinsider.com/rumor-ea-ac...million-2009-10
The article was posted today.

It seems he was offered a very good opportunity.

Then I posted this:

QUOTE
Description of his new job requirements, or something similar if not same job
: http://www.ventureloop.com/ventureloop/job...php?jobid=27161

It's not just about small games, it seems.

Lastly, this:

QUOTE
I had a PM from Mr. Olifiers a couple of weeks ago during discussions of his leaving Jagex. I'm sure he won't mind my repeating this portion of it:

"...I'm sure Mechscape will be a big success, the team behind it is the best I've ever worked with, you can trust they'll do a great job with or without my help. ;)"

It's obvious he left feeling positive about Mechscape.

Hopefully any or all of that will make you feel better about the situation with Henrique and Mechscape and Jagex. :)

DjIceman
Ladylegacy, I'm afraid that answer just isn't enough. MMG made a mock of things in his CC? That makes me wonder even more what happened. It's hard to belive that MechScape's development is running smoothly after he resigned.

I mean what is it with this secrecy? I can't believe you're being JUST like Jagex.

Fine, don't repost it, but again, just tell whoever wants to know. I think people who want to know, deserve to know.

It was a sensitive issue that was between MMG and Henrique. I'd think both asked for the posts to be removed. To not respect the wishes might be detrimental to this board and it's relationship with the parties involved. That would be my guess anyway. I think anyone who read the parts of the thread that were removed respect the wishes of the parties involved and the request of the administrators of this board. It seemed to really stem from a misunderstanding that was getting blown much larger in public forums.

Besides, this wasn't a Mechscape issue, at least not the parts removed. It was between two parties, more of a personal issue. We've stated what we know from Henrique. He said he resigned. I promise! :)

killrrhubarb
Henrique has seemed to leave Mechscape in capable hands, from what he PMed ladylegacy, and I'm glad that he has done this. I think that Henrique probably moved on because the pay was better more than anything else (he seemed to love mechscape) and I'm hoping that Henrique left the team with only some minor polishing and balancing to be done; meaning that the game should be able to come out after this has been done.
Lord John
Yeah, I hope MS is released soon.

No one has any idea how Mechscape is progressing. All we know is that Henrique resigned for a great opportunity believing that Mechscape will be a success without him. Nothing was said about MS in what was taken down. What happened and how it was dealt with was just a misunderstanding between two people. It's really none of our business. MY main point is that's it's their business, not ours and doesn't give us any additional information about Mechscape, so why take it further.
DjIceman
Why not just tell me?

In case you didn't get it, this is a trolling to tell you to grow up. You missed out. Life isn't fair. Suck it up.

DjIceman
No, she did not say what happened. Compaq, I would appreciate if you stopped being a complete shithead, ktnx.

I would like to be the judge of that.

My last post on this. I think if you can read subtleties, you can get the general idea of what transpired from what Henrique has said and MMG. Verbatim posting isn't really necessary.
DjIceman
Look at it this way: if you weren't asked to not post it again, would you tell someone? The answer from a lot of people would be yes, they would tell someone.

What does that mean?

Thank you
Iceman

This is only what I've gathered from the recent question and answers topic in the news area however it looks to me as if Henrique Olifiers may have been sacked for taking the game in the wrong direction from it's original purpose. Of course this is all speculation, so perhaps now with some of the Jagex Team here, things can be cleared up? Here is a quote from Plexus (Mod MMG) in response to some of Ren's questions in the topic, read it and you may see where i am coming from:
QUOTE
On the 10th August this year all the various parts of the game we finally put together and Andrew, the Mechscape Team and I got to actually play the full game. Sadly the game was not as complete as we wanted and we spent the first few months trying to “fix” the game where we could. About a month or so ago we took the decision to stop trying to “fix it” as we still wouldn’t have the game we wanted and the game certainly did not meet all the objectives and specifications established in the original game design document and therefore it would be better to go back to the founding principles and build the game we always wanted –Andrew is now overseeing the project and working very closely
