As far as I know, there won't be an official MSW clan. There are already a few MechScape clans, though. I'm not sure what they're called, but the clan leaders will probably post some information about them.

Clan.
Simply because most of "MechScape" players will come from RuneScape and are used to the term.
We will probably see lots of old RuneScape clans reforming their clans in MechScape.

They're known as either clans or Guilds accross the whole MMO market. Unless Jagex specifically makes "Faction" chat or something like that, I can see them still being called clans.

As for a MSW clan, I believe the idea has been dismissed. Besides I would rather have community events for anyone on the forums rather than have to commit to the clan of a fansite to go to events.

There will be no MSW official clan.

For what you call it is completely up to you. I prefer guild over clan but their one is the same meaning. And I agree, if Jagex labels it something special like factions or something else then that is what we will end up be calling clans and guilds.

Without reading any of this thread I could hapily say that I'd like it to be clans in MechScape. And if it turns out to be clans I just hope there's a MechScapeWorld clan.

Been confirmed by PC that MSW will support clans equally and therefore there will be no MSW clan. If you are intrested in joining a clan check out the various links in signatures around the forums.

I hope there are plenty of features for clans like banks, tabards e.t.c

I object and think maybe we should have an initial clan chat to help to process to information so our site stays on top of things.

I see the point of stay neuteral but maybe if not a clan we could use some sort of chat feature to chat only and share info. So a sort of joint chat for all clans to come to. A centeral one if you wish.
