I am looking into potentially moding my xbox 360, from the hardware to the software. I have a spare 60gb HDD laying around so I figured I could install linux or something on it. I also was searching around and found tons of cool hardware mods like Green transparent cases, green LED interior fan's, cooling units, and lights in general; all of which would be good to combine with a transparent case. I could get about 4 of those things for under 150 bucks and then dual booting linux would be potentially free.

I highly recommend you DON'T do this if you use Xbox Live. Microsoft detect them regularly, and are always detecting the new ones.

And if Microsoft doesn't detect it, people who are good at Xbox live without cheating will detect you and get ticked. I don't report people on Xbox live unless they really tick me off, and a really easy way to really tick me off is to use modded controllers or Xboxs. It's not hard to tell when you have a fire-rate mod or targeting mod, easily in games like Cod4 where they have a kill-cam.

Modded Xbox =/= Cheating

Most games ban you if your caught with modded controllers. Microsoft usually ban the gamertag if the console is modded, and I've heard it's possible for them to disable the consoles OS completely.

depends if you ever plan on using your xbox again dont do it, but if you dont then do it, or if your rich do it then buy another one if it dosent work l

it is but i want a pair of turtles. my friend has them but they are not detectable so you cant get cought for a pair of turtle. but in my case i dont use my mod sept in private matches and to people who also use mods so... i never get caught. :)
