whats the likelyhood of chanting being a new skill?

as most know that in some quests (elven storyline and that of gnomes with that glourphy guy) have use of crystal equipment. As the new quest (within the light) came, i played it and got this idea. during this quest u had to chant a crystal to get some kind of location beacon.

Would more more like a Musical Skill thingy then...

I've been thinking about this as well, such as playing flutes and the lyre to boost up everyone's stats, etc... and so on. I see it possible... but not likely.

Well, theres that music cape picture going around. But that might not be a real skillcape, just something some employee made. So its possible. But it kind of goes with magic.

Isn't the whole point of chanting that only elves can do it, as they're the only ones with good enough voices?

Unless in some quest storyline you became part elf...

I think this is a very good idea.

Id like this more than you know what.

I could only see it as an additional spellbook at best - transformation magic or some such.

I mean, how could you train the skill en masse? You'd need some sort of crystal raw material, and then the items to make with it for all skill levels. The balance problems would be pretty huge.

The skill has to be something that could be an entire game.

Also chanting can come with the magic spell where you enchant rings and stuff. It could take that away from magic and make it a whole skill.

well depending how the elven magic works, it could be the most powerful in the game or atleast the only other magic that can counter ancient magick, or it could be kinda weak and not ment for combat, or it could alternatively be a balance between lunar magic, normal magic and ancient magick
