I have heard from some people that the name will definately be changed to stellar dawn?
I have also been told that mechscape or stellar dawn... whatever it will be called wont be released this year? Maybe halfway through next year they said.

So, please tell me about this and inform me on some true facts about the making of mechscape.

It is very likely that the real name of MechScape is Stellar Dawn, but it hasn't been confirmed.

And in a recent(ish) interview Jagex said that they now expect the game out early 2010.

There's plenty of speculation, but the main thing to keep in mind is that no one but Jagex actually knows, and they aren't talkin'.

The name is most likely going to be Stellar Dawn and the date we have no idea. Jagex hasn't said anything in a while.
In the Eurogamer interview they said 2010 but then they go onto say that there is no date planned for the beta. Leaving us with nothing, but I hope it's still set for this year.

Even after the release, Jagex may change the name. Didn't they do that with DeviousMUD and Runescape Classic (Which was originally Runescape too)?

Jagex has not confirmed that the name is going to be Stellar Dawn, though various Jagex employees have been saying that it is definitely not going to be called Mechscape, and Stellar Dawn is the only other name we currently know it could go by. As for the date, in the Eurogamer interview, they said that Mechscape will be released in 2010, but that was not confirmed.

The game can really be released any day now. It is up to Jagex when they feel it is ready and when to release it. I don't see them releasing the game this year but it is not out of the question that it can come out tomorrow or the next week. Jagex have kept a tight lid on it and keep saying 'soon' and countless other 'soon'-like generic words. I am bothered that they keep saying soon but it is not 'soon' at all in my opinion. Either way I do have the patience and I have stuck around for long enough that I don't try to hype myself.

So to answer your question. No one has a clue, and we don't even know if Jagex has a clue either. The release date is completely unknown.

I think Jagex really needs to update us.

Jagex has been jumping around with dates, first it was q1 of 09, then after that more time areas of the year, now they are saying 2010. I hope they don't go through 2010 as they did with 2009 as release date terms go.

We have no idea on a release date, however it is in the final stages of testing e.t.c
So expect it sometime next year, or verty late this year.

According to MMG they might actually be in a recreation stage... but I am not sure what this means.

This means that they are taking it back to concept stages and doing everything over again to do it properly. I believe he said something about adjusting the core aspects of the game and redoing it or something of those lines. Basically it is going to be a new game out of "MechScape".
