MechScape World > MechScape / Stellar Dawn > MechScape / Stellar Dawn General

Hey guys, just got on today and as I loaded my internet browser, I realised the MechScape homepage had changed from a 404 to "Unable to connect". Could this mean that Jagex are infact updating the site and/or moving away from www.mechscape.com to www.stellardawn.com?

Discuss.
TheAnnunaki
i tried twice, both times mechscape.com redirected to a google search of mechscape.com

if you're talking about rs, no they didnt..i just made a new account, and they didnt

I tried, also, and I wasn't able to connect. I am thinking that this might mean that Jagex has completely decided to go with a different name than MechScape, and they took down their server. No point in having the server if the game isn't named MechScape. "StellarDawn.com" still works, however.

You must've missed the tweet and news post about them doing site maintenence to the account creation module. Just because you didnt see a change doesnt mean there wasn't one.

I also get the unable to connect message, maybe they just straight up don't have mechscape.com on any servers.

If you go to the last IP in your browser your back at the familiar "404 - Page not found" page. I reckon that something isn't redirecting at the last IP(149.6.184.78).

Edit: Just went down here too.

Jagex will redirect mechscape.com to stellardawn.com, obviously.
Trunkzta
very interesting. I noticed it today aswell (before i read this post)
Max
Probably transferring servers like someone said already. One step closer to SD. :D

Sounds like the name is going to be stellar dawn, and they are cancelling owning www.mechscape.com. Hopefully this means that Stellar Dawn is going to come out soon.

Right, I recall Account creation module being moved for RuneScape a couple of weeks back. Could be a month ago, I don't remember. Now recently, I hear there was this similar move for FunOrb's account creation module.

Both, MechScape.com & StellarDawn.com give me a connection reset error.

Recently, the billing pages got revamped. With the Stellar Dawn button being in the CSS (it got removed).

Olifiers has left Jagex.

At the end of August, we saw an interview where Jagex said that MS/SD is soon heading to final polishing stages. It has been nearly 2 months since then.

Hint, hint?!?! blink.gif

Thank you

I know and agree with everything you've said, but I'm not too sure about the billing page. When did that happen? If it was an actual button could you post a pic or something?
Lord John
I wish. They said it was almost finished a year ago...

What? The Stellar Dawn button seemed pretty solid information to me. Even if it wasn't, the blurred game name seems like another very good, solid proof.

There was no actual image file on the servers. There was a button 'preset' of so to speak in the CSS file.

Stellardawn.com now redirects to Funorb again, but mechscape.com officially doesn't.
Shufflestorm
I'm not going to go overboard with excitement at this slight change.
Electron
It could be something,
it could be nothing.

No one knows. blush.gif

I'm kinda curious about what's happening!

@ DjIceman
Do you have any screens?
DjIceman
Why would I need screenies? Screenies can be faked, you know. I'm pretty confident that it wasn't a fake... It would make absolutely no sense if it was.

Didn't you post the source code showing they added Mechscape button in payment bill, therefore why do you need a screenie(picture)?
DjIceman
What? I didn't post it, nor did I find it myself.

Yet, I fail to see how does it matter? It doesn't matter whether or not I have a picture of it. It's fairly obvious that there will be a Stellar Dawn button there. EVEN IF, the 'find' was a fake. Which, I seriously doubt it was.

Fact is, they revamped the billing pages, preparing it for the Stellar Dawn subscription option.

Thank you

Lord Zaros
I think that they took power of www.mechscape.com because there will be servers of this game, so they dont use the www.mechscape.com name to hack accounts. Also i think that mechscape is not going to change the name, i think that they will create another game or site. Like they did with FunOrb and with MechScape.
Yeti
Lip, Andrew, mod mmg, and olivers have confirmed mechscape will not be the name. Deal with it
