Full Version: Interesting FunOrb article...
MechScape World > MechScape / Stellar Dawn > MechScape / Stellar Dawn General
Someone
http://www.funorb.com/kbase/guid/production_process_01

It contains information about how Jagex makes FunOrb games, but it probably applies to MechScape too...

Another interesting thing is that the second image in it kind of looks like this...
http://www.mechscapeworld.com/forums/index...q=si&img=86
...which is in the confirmed MechScape concept art pages.

Quote from mod kat:

I can't give you any information about the upcoming releases right now, I'm afraid. Rest assured that there's a lot of hard work going on in the FunOrb lab

Maybe this is funorb then?

If it takes so much time to a single game on FunOrb wonder how much it will take on Mechscape..
Human
Thy didn't say it was an upcoming funorb game so the game might be aswell mechscape and my 'Jagex are going to release something about mechscape this month' was right.
Hayaemsay
This is unlikely to be of any major significance to MechScape, although we can assume it went through a similar design process. It's more likely this diary was just written to distract the regular Orbers from the distinct lack of new content that has been and will be released in the short term.

makes me wonder how much they can do in Java. Just wow.

Vee, I suggest you read the godsword topic in runescape media, more so the last 2 pages.

And btw it was confirmed to be funorb:

1 - Both screen shots are from FunOrb games. Then first one is from a work-in-process title using our new hardware accelerated graphics API. It doesn't look like much at the moment (lots of green lines and blocks) but it represents a multiplayer flight-sim, shoot em up. The second is a shot of some concept artwork from the re-work of Hostile Spawn.

Gonna play around a little bit, so don't take some of these too seriously.

First image=
Shattered Plans: Korpz's Greed
Control Air Space Crafts with over 1337 customizations, with a massive 20 year war campaign in single player, Members are able to play the Gielinor and Shattered Plans campaign.

Those with the most awesome of awesome connections can play massive 32 player battles, including a replay of the final F2P Single Player campaign mission, Operation Stellar Dawn's massive 4 way battle with the MHU, PLA, MWF and CSR!

Second image=
"The Marine" from Hostile Spawn (I don't think the name of this character or gender was ever given in game) But I would say, if this is a remake of "The Marine" then FREAKEN AWESOME... I'll call him/her Jagex's equivalent to Issac from Dead Space... or any other Sci-Fi shooter.

I really look forward to what they have in store for us!

We also spend a lot of time on polishing the game. Polish is the term the industry uses to describe all the small elements you add to a game that really make it feel like a high quality product. These can be as simple as a transition effect or a button mouse-over, or as complex as CGI video, but these elements really make the game feel finished and superior in quality. The customer rarely notices when polish is there, but they always notice when the polish is absent.

Involved with MechScape or not, it was an interesting article. I do so love the development diaries from Jagex. I've read every single one of them. I look forward to reading the MS/SD dev diaries also!

It does look like it could be a MS screenshot, but the website was FunOrb, and thus, is probably just a FunOrb game. I'm fine with either, because I would love for MechScape to come out, but I also love the release of new FunOrb games.

Nice find. I guess not really a find, considering I also found it, along with thousands of other people, but still, good job, I guess!

DragonsRage
if you look at another picture, go to the homepage of mechscapeworld, and go all the way to the right, there is a concept art of a face, click it and dont all those 3 images look similar?
Venq
I noticed this today and didn't notice this topic -.- I accidentally made my own one...
