MechScape World > MechScape / Stellar Dawn > MechScape / Stellar Dawn Ideas & Rumours

Explanation:
Jagex has to test every possible combination of Java Versions, Computer Versions, computer brands, types and brands of hardware (mouse, monitor, computer, graphics and audio cards, keyboards, harddrive, etc), and much more for me to list. And in all those different combinations, they also have to test in every combination of possible actions whilst wearing every possible combination of clothing with every possible combinations of areas you could be stepping in every possible direction.

The game may be complete, but imagine all that testing, in every different combinations of graphic, control and audio options.

Now they will have to test in game messaging between other games (RS, FunOrb Games) with similar tests of Versions, Computer Versions, computer brands, types and brands of hardware (mouse, monitor, computer, graphics and audio cards, keyboards, harddrive, etc), and much more.

No, they don't.

Welcome to what BETA is intended for.

They'd find bugs in 20 years that players would find in 5 minutes of actually playing the game.
Darth Irule
All that stuff is what the beta is for.
loganmaddox
whyn would they have to test it with different monitors and mouses?

Dear jebus, I know sarcasm fails over the internet, but really guys? You didn't even catch it at "every possible combination of clothes"? confused.gif

Hmmm

I, I think he meant literally wearing every type of clothes on every square in the game.

That is what BETA's are used for.

I would agree but Jagex have so much technology already existing that they really don't need to test very extensively. It would be more likely that they are tweaking balancing. The last Head of MechScape made a twitter on the balancing of the races. There is no doubt a lot in this game and it is supposed to be the size of RuneScape. Imagine trying to test everything on RuneScape as it is now before releasing it. It's huge and things get through every update they do and those aren't as big as releasing the entire game at once.

I don't agree that is would be hardware related as much as actually balancing the game and making sure that the server can handle X people on at the same time.

I think that due to all the products released, they would already know what to do. I think that they are testing how the races look and respond to different environments, editing the back story in all races a bit to go with other parts of the game, and stuff that would necessarily be fixed in the BETA.
displayname
whats up with your title?
Celcoli
I agree. The title's completely irrelevant. I could hardly read it either.

Yeah, imagine all that testing. I hope they test longer than they did for Mobilising armies (about half a year too late with so many bugs it was a joke.)

The point of a BETA is to iron out the bugs. Apparently they usually only have one person testing the game. Chances are they won't be able to cover the entire game no matter how long they take.

Why do you keep bringing the Mobilising Armies bug? O_o

The game was bug free on release but then due to 100s of people trying the minigame at once the minigame errored and then bugs started coming in which were the ability to only play one secenrio (conflict)
And the money losing.

Clearly Jagex can't hire 500 bug testers to play the same minigame at once. Well they can but it would cost alot of money.

Well they'd just ask for volunters, I'm sure many people would put their hands up for it.
They will do some testing but most bugs will be found in the beta, Also what is up with your thread title? We aren't morons dry.gif
