The Mortiga just look like generic golems.

If your implying that they are ripping ideas, I'd think again. That character really doesn't look like the Pliigi. Besides if every monster character with blades for arms were ripped ideas, then they would've also been copying:

Besides most videogame characters are based on characters from another videogame

The Pliigi look rather different to the space pirate, and so do the Mortiga. Although they maybe coping some ideas from other games, i believe the entire look of each species is unique and that if there are some small similarities in the species, it was most probably done to make them easier to draw.

Same, I could only see the space pirate one. You might want to check the other few pictures and get them fixed so we can see them. And if all video game characters were all based off of another video game character does that mean Mario came from the little bars from Pong?

Yes, it was me. Google was looking at it (either that, or it was a guest) so I had a look and found it interesting. Besides, it wasn't long dead, it hadn't passed it's 30 days.
