Hey post your thoughts.... Remember this is just one of my crazy ideas that could just be true.
So we all know mechscape/stellardawn, will be sort of, y'know, different. No exp, no grinding, no skills, its all quite alien. A very different type of mmo by any ones standards.
So what if the reason they aren't giving any info is because they didn't want any one to take any of their ideas?
To me it kinda makes sense. Jagex has this great idea 3+ years ago, they want to make something REALLY BIG out of it. They know that if they spill the beans, some one might take their idea and make a game with that idea before them.
Cuz if u think about it, just saying what they WILL do insted of xp and skills and levels could give another game making company just enough info to make their own new, fun, different game.
Could this be the reason?
For all of you people out there who dont agree, yes, i do wish there would be more info. I wana know more and i AM loosing intrest. but what if in the end, its an amazing game that every one wants to play because it is the FIRST to use a brand new system?
We will just have to wait and see.
Please, post your thoughts, but be open minded. Think from jagex's point of view as well as your own. AGAIN, YES, I DO THINK AND WANT MORE INFO, but maybe this is the reason why we arnt getting any.

We are not to blame for Jagex's failure to even show any sign that they are confident in their game. We technically STILL don't know the name of the game.

Yup and their lack of sticking to their word. It was suppose to get announced "soon," a month ago

What I don't understand yet is where will our energy be put into if we can't level? Virtually everything in runescape has to do with levelling.
There will have to be a massive system where you somehow lose wealth or the game will suffer greatly from inflation (providing the game will have an economy, preferably not like runescape G E)
I'm going to bet that items expire and you have to replace/repair them, and there might even be a large scale faction oriented PVP.
I'm supposing that in Mechscape, items are going to have less of a "valueable" feel like say dragon equipement and it might be a normal feeling to lose a lot of your stuff. (Won't be such a big deal to die)
I'm also thinking that items will have to be or at least be more easily crafted by yourself.

Playing with highly customized, untradable equipment and weapons, only obtainable from the best amount of research and experiments... or lucky guesses. Everything easy to obtain, highly combat based.
Follows with the need for constant change in builds, so making something new to fit yourself for each situation will replace leveling and grinding skills... basically with a player's ACTUAL skills.

Well Blizzard are also releasing a new MMO "Like nothing on the current MMO" market. It's not a notion unique to Jagex.

Yeah, people get in a fuss about Jagex making that statement, when really, it's all too common when talking about an upcoming MMO.

If so, they're just putting off the inevitable.

If this was true there would still be no reason to give little information regarding the main plot, races etc.

1) They don't need to
2) What do we really need to know?
3) They don't want to
4) We know enough and they don't want us to know anymore until release
