If you are in need of a guild... you're welcomed to join mine. happy.gif

However... my guild is dead... and I spent like 300+ platinum on the Guild Hall, so I am stuck with it. dry.gif

But if you ever need help on anything, just gimme a ring, and trust me, I will help get the mission done. With one of my many characters. biggrin.gif
TehBigGun
I kinda want to play, can anyone give me the minimum/recommended requirements?
ProMetaAnaTelo
Elite, Mechlad;

We've got to party up. I can't finish the last mission. :(

EDIT: I'd be happy to help you on your missions as well, Mechlad. I need the extra money for more armor.
EliteZeon
Which final mission? =P

Abaddon's Gate, Hell's Precipice, Imperial Sanctum, or A Time for Heroes?

Just saw the trailer for Guild Wars 2... looks flippin' awesome!

What the hell, I'm going to pick this up for Fall Break. Hope to see you guy's there. biggrin.gif

I've had this game for a long-ass time, but haven't been able to get into it. What are the main appeals and ways to get started in the game? I think I'll still prefer RS either way.
Gandaf007
Do I need all three expansions to get... the fullest experience?
EliteZeon
Three campaigns and the one Expansion would yield to the full experience, yes.

I recommend playing them in this order-

Prophecies, Factions, NightFall and the Eye of the North.

Those are the story lines in Chronological Order... for one thing.

Prophecies, offers the best tutorial area and slow game progress allows you to get used to the game at a good pace.
Offers only the 6 original classes: Warriors (Axes, Hammers and Swords, Oh My!), Rangers (Bows and Pets!), Elementalists (Elemental Nukers), Mesmers (Illusionists, Dominators... Mind Control), Necromancers (Dead People, Yay!), and Monks (Heal Plz).

Factions, speeds you off to the hard stuff without much of a tutorial... but yields to some of the best PvP aspects of the series.
Offers two new classes: The Assassin (Ninjas, What Else?), and The Ritualists (Spirit Calling Dudes)

NightFall is the middle-man when it comes to game progression. It gives you access to heroes, NPC characters that you can put in your party, which you must obtain skills and equipment for. But I say it has my favorite storyline.
Offers two new classes: The Paragon (Spear Throwing Leaders, Generally With No Pants), and The Dervish (Holy Scythe Masters... Has "God Mode")

Eye of the North, gives you the requirement of being at least level 10 to play, and is thus the only actual expansion, while all three other games are standalone. Offers Heroes, and a number of awesome Dungeons. Has the Hall of Monuments, which is used to connect your account's achievements to Guild Wars 2. Storyline bridges the gap between the original Guild Wars series and Guild Wars 2, with the introduction of the Norn and Asura race, along with many other factors.
Players that spent a lot of time in the Prophecies Tutorial area will most likely be familiar with something in the early parts of this game.

So, yeah, the bestest experience will come from having just about all the games, or at least more than one.

But one campaign still offers hours of fun.

I love guild wars, one of the best games i ever played
killrrhubarb
Reading all the facts about guild wars wants me to play it more biggrin.gif. I might try the 10 hour free-trial, though I don't think they sell the disks in Gisborne so I will have to go somewhere else in New Zealand to get them.
EliteZeon
You don't need a disk to play or install, I believe. It can all be downloaded from the website.

The money is all in with the Account Access Keys.

I have never played this game or really looked it up, what is it about?
EliteZeon
Think of WoW... (The creators used to work for Blizzard, but branched off to make ArenaNet)

But the game forces the player with many limitations, such as low level cap, only 8 combat skills available at a time, instanced worlds, small parties, and not much of a grindfest.

The game yields for players to continuously change and develop strategies and play styles.

That is that in half a minute.

I've got some better description laying around somewhere...

It sounds awesome, Is it one of those we-suck-up-your-life-and-ruin-it games? Or can you manage to play it casually?

You can manage to play every game casually.

It is a more casual gaming MMO, which is the point of having no monthly subscription fee for it.

I am a casual player, getting on, on average, once a week or so... but still having quite a bit of fun when I do get on...
Gandaf007
Hm...

I think I'm going to pass for now, I'll just wait for Guild Wars 2.
strrox4
guild wars 2 isn't due until 2011 and guild wars is pretty awesome just not much to do at the end of storyline but PVP!!!! elite zeon i was wondering do you think gw2 will have different campaigns like its predecessor or will it be one solid game with them updating on the story piece by piece
EliteZeon
They say Guild Wars 2 will take place in Tyria, like Guild Wars Prophecies.

So, they might plan make separate campaigns, one for what is occurring in Cantha and one for the conflict in Elona. But, if they just have it as a free update... Hell Yeah!
Yeti
I may try it during the summer or some time when school is out for a week
Dean
Meh, GW is okay. Not much to do when you've "completed" the game no. There isn't really any end game content to speak of except the PVP part, which is actually really good.
Orbie
I've just picked up GW recently, because 20$ for Prophecies with no recurring fee is pretty flippin awesome. I've heard that the expansions are way, way better, but I'd like to play through the games in order. I think I'm about halfway through the Prophecies campaign, but I don't honestly know.
EliteZeon
I loved Prophecies more than some of the others in specific areas.
Prophecies had the best learning curve, since it goes on slowly compared to others. And it has the best exploration aspect compared to all the games.

Some of the storyline wouldn't make sense if you didn't play some of the games in order, so I agree with your buying of only Prophecies.
Some of the latter games describe events that happened in the past... for example... NightFall takes place 3 years after Prophecies and Factions, to where some characters may recount some things from the past campaigns. And Eye of the North takes place another 3 years after NightFall... to where a number of dialogue also refers to major events in the previous campaigns.

By the by... are you that same Orbie some of us may see on the Jagex official forums?

Yep, we are one and the same cool.gif. I'm definitely on the forums more than in the game nowadays, so GW is a nice replacement. It's so much fun, after playing RS, to have a game that's really teamwork based and you aren't having to compete with your friends if you want to play with them.
