Full Version: Favorite Game Ever?

Title pretty much says it all, what is your favorite game(s) of all time?

Personally, it's a tie between The World Ends With You on the DS and the Sly Cooper games on the PS2. I've probably poured 200 hours into those four games over the years.

TWEWY has my favorite battle system and the story was simply amazing, although it was pretty short (only took me 6ish hours to finish). The message behind it was very inspiring, the voice acting (even though there wasn't much) was superb, and the cut scenes were beautiful.

I love the Sly Cooper games, mainly because of the game play. It's not all that complicated, but it's extremely addicting. I also enjoyed the comic-book-esque cut scenes. The central story was damn near perfect, but much like TWEWY, way too short, but still very enjoyable.

Hmm, I'll give 3, since I can't decide.

Bioshock
Zelda: Ocarina of time
Call of duty 4

Pokemon Gold/Silver (Still have but gave to younger cousin)
Theme Hospital (Doesn't work)
Theme Park (Lost it)
Warcraft 2 (Doesn't work)
Warcraft 3 (on my Personal Computer)
Digimon 1 on playstation which was an uber epic game (Lost)
Call of duty 2

Coded
My favorite was Black Hawk Down =P

MrThomas

my favorite is: Assassins Creed cool.gif

ProMetaAnaTelo
It's a tie between Portal and Penumbra: Overture and Black Plague.

I loved Portal because it had the most amazing puzzles in the world. Then, when the story took a complete turn, I felt like I was the most... I don't even know how to describe the second half of the game's perfection. The downside, it was too short.

I loved Penumbra because it was the only game that's actually scared me. Other games have made me jump (Resident Evil, Silent Hill) but Penumbra actually made me feel scared to play it. So much isolation and darkness.
It, also, was too short and the ending wasn't as satisfying as I'd hoped. But the story was the best out of any game I've played.

EliteZeon
Guild Wars

Final Fantasy 6
MadMech13
Top 5

Favorite would be Ocarina of Time, they're in order, from best to least best.

Edit: To take Pipin's idea, of posting pics happy.gif

RuneScape.

Quite sad, but nothing else has taken my time like it.

The thread is about your favorite game not the game you put the most time into.
Runescape has taken most of my time but it's not anywhere near my favorite game list.
It's only at the top of my favorite mmo and since I've only played like 5, not much of an achievement.
Neven
The entire Metal Gear series, FF7, and COD4.
Shadow of Sofia
Portal was epic, but I must say, Zelda Twilight Princess for Wii was amazing. The storyline was epic, and I love that game.
Pipinowns
My top 5 would be:

I'm quite liking Oblivion at the moment. If you haven't played it, it's definitely a game you should try out.

That's an in-game picture.
Oh and Cave Story (Doukutsu Monogatari) is pretty cool too.

And that's an in-game picture as well.
ArmCannon
Hmm... tough...

Probably Command and Conquer: Red Alert for PC. Sooo many memories playing that game. smile.gif

jmb
GTA : San Andreas, by a distance too. Still haven't got GTA IV as it will involve buying a new pc, but i might get around to it before GTA V is out!
Cyph3r
Oblivion, Halo:CE, Call of Duty 4, Counter-Strike, Football Manager, Trackmania.
Elkopoo
These aren't in any particular order:
Unreal Tournament series, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, RuneScape
traver
i like both assassins creed and ratchet and clank cool.gif

TES IV: Oblivion is honestly the best game there is. The amount of content and choice in that game is phenomenal. It is essentially a whole world in which you can do anything. Definitely one for the Fantasy RPG fans out there.

I just checked and I've clocked over 301 hours on Oblivion (about 120 of which are in game content and the rest being custom mods.) Definitely worth the money.
Herculite
CnC: generals

Age of empires: two

and one called Silver
Darth Irule
I can't decide what game I like most.

I like to play Halo, call of duty, grid. Many more.
Egg
I have to be brutally honest and say Spyro for the PS1, but RuneScape has grown on me over the years. biggrin.gif
SgtGumbo
rome total war alllll the way. I also REALLY love Mass Effect.

With mods ofcourse (realism)

*as for old favorites? Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and the first age of empires.
HollowaysEve

My Top 2 Games of All Time

Vee3

Nintendo - Super Smash Brothers series (especially #1)
MajesticCamel
I have quite a few.

I really love the halo series because I've read the books and all and really like the back story so that's up there.

Runescape of course was a plague of addiction which i loved at one point.

I really like Fallout 3. It is an interesting universe and is fun to delve into. Oblivion is good too.

Another person who loves Oblivion. You can do anything and everything on it, and some choices lead you to either getting or not getting others. In Oblivion I have clocked every single mission in the game apart from two, and am considering buying the mods for it. It's very cheap, too.

Xbox360: Dead Space (I'm sure some of you guys knew that already :P) and CoD 4 & 5

PC: Runescape. I got 99 Woodcutting 3 days ago, already going for all skills 70+. Probably my favourite game of all time (well, maybe crash/Spyro win over it).
Hayaemsay

Yeah, the expansions are great. I have KOTN (and all the plugins) and The Shivering Isles as well. The Shivering Isles is great, the main quest is awesome although it was criticised because after you've done the main quest and the additional random quests there isn't much to do in the Shivering Isles. KOTN is great fun although quite a bit shorter than SI. You can buy KOTN however with all the additional plugins such as Frostcrag Spire or Deepscorn Hollow.

The plugins are funny because almost all of them involve new houses so in the end your character ends up owning like 20 houses. I've also done every quest in the game including Aylied Artifact quest line (which is an absolute pain to complete, having to get 10 artifacts from around the ruins.)

Great game, I'm waiting on Malevolance Pt II from the modder Simyaz for the end to his great series in Oblivion.

As for other games, my favourite Wii game is Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

ArmCannon
Oh, has anyone else played Baldur's Gate or Champions of Norrath for PS2? My god, I've played Champions II for hundreds of hours.. it has some of the best replay value I've ever seen.
Mooncry
Timesplitters 2.

And I know 4 is coming...

...in my dreams.
oribital

I love this too. :D
Garanaw
1. Halo 3
2. Halo 3
3. Snake (I'm not really serious ... but it's awesome!)

Lol

And to continue the Oblivion discussion:

It's a great game, but I don't see how anyone could play more than 20-30 hours of gameplay. All you do is run around doing quests, and there's really no reason to do combat to get better since everything else gets better at the same time. It has got an awesome feeling, and it's great the first hours, but when you're done with the main quest, have become a guild master and have finished lots of the other quests, it's kinda boring.

If it was online it would be the best game ever! I really don't see any point of playing a game if it's not co-op, split screen or online ...

There are mods for Oblivion which make it multiplayer. I hear they are buggy though...

I also love Kingdom Heart. I've finished 1 and 2 so many times on expert I've lost count. I'm missing one blue trinity in the first one but can't be bothered looking for it ;)
Orbie
1. Golden Sun and its sequel for GBA
2. Okami for Wii
3. Paper Mario TTYD for Gamecube
4. Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker for Gamecube
5. Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past for GBA

My favorites are my favorites because they sucked me in and didn't let go till I had beaten them at least 3 times. In some cases, considerably more.
Lord Zaros
I dont like the games that end fast... I like the games that are like Runecape, World of Warcraft and else. But some games are cool like:
  • Counter-Strike
  • Comandos

Gandaf007
Forgot to add Battlefield 2. I've played that game for at least 200+ hours alone, it is addicting, deep, fun.
