Hey there, out of the mmo's you've played, what is your favorite and why?

I guess runescape because it dosen't suck up my life
Faybro
Halo Crusades. (http://www.halocrusades.com?x=2845)
If it's not obvious, it's a Halo MMORPG. It's text based tho. :\ The link above will get you extra points than if you joined via the normal link.
EliteZeon
Guild Wars

  • Not much of a grind fest (unless you are going after the extremely prestigious things)
  • Highly balanced combat system
  • Combat is Player Skill and Strategy Based
  • Free to Play after purchase, No Monthly Fees
  • Good community... however, diminished over the years as more immature players join the game
  • Extremely Great graphics that actually run with pretty low requirements
  • Decently Strong Storyline
  • My Necromancer and his friends Pwnz You All.

Call it stupid and childish, but puzzle pirates is one of the most fun MMO's I've ever played, although it looks childish, it's one of the most complex out there. It has a player controlled economy, every store in-game is owned and controlled by someone. Basically everything in-game is created and controlled by players, and there are actually politics and stuff. It's really cool, it also has, if not the best then certainly one of the best communities I've seen in any MMO's. And if people hate eachother, then it's because they're a member of an enemy flag, not because they're immature. Here it is

Also, it has pirates, yarr.

I'd say WoW.

Although it's gone a bit downhill since Wrath of the Lich King, it remains my favorite. The dungeons and raids were a lot of fun, and so was PvP, even if it was a bit unbalanced.

The only reason I really quit was my mom got laid off, so we needed the extra money.
ProMetaAnaTelo
I hate MMO games because they usually don't have very fun gameplay.

It's either a huge grind, expensive price or it has a terrible community.

If I had to choose it'd be Runescape or Guild Wars.

Runescape has great quests but really immature players while Guild Wars had fun gameplay until everyone started refusing to party with me.
holyxenu
personally on a true gamers scale obviously WoW but for just playing at a library or an office were you cant WoW on the computers runescape is the best (and theirs also the fact that runescape costs SO much less a month to play than rs(which i just recently quit WoW and went full time rs due to me not having enough money enough to pay for it (my parents make me pay for my mmos))

Aye, everyone just goes and plays with Heroes and Henchmen now... bright side is, I don't have to deal with shit with some idiotic players, down side is that I don't make as much friends anymore.

But I assure you that you will find a pretty good party if you do a Zaishen Mission quest on Hard Mode nowadays.
sonicbody89
runesape is the best mmo ive played, since its like the only one a play
Trunkzta
WoW i guess...

But Dragonball Online will be released soon :] so thats my next favorite.

Omfg I remember Puzzle Pirates.. Fun until I got banned, although I have another account i can use.

Best MMO I played.. RuneScape I guess, I played WoW for a bit was fun but I didnt want to pay the 15$ a month.

Although I don't enjoy it anymore, Runescape was the best MMO I've played. All the rest seem to just be rip-offs of World of Warcraft and tend to have boring content. Runescape has constant updates, and their quests are far superior to most games.

As for Puzzle Pirates, I played it a while ago with my brother and it was thoroughly enjoying. The only reason I stopped was when I found out I had to pay real money to get anywhere and once the puzzles became repetitive and uninteresting.

I'll get back to the titles question once Star Wars: The Old Republic is released. Which, yes, in my opinion will be a WoW killer.

WoW's demise is when Blizzard releases Hydra.
Im sure 40%-70% of players will quit.

Same with Runescape until JaGex releases Stellar Dawn.
But maybe the new skill will save Runescape's population.... Maybe.... doubt it will save all maybe a 25%-50% of it?

Im actually not that big fan of Mmo's.

Runescape is what caught me in with its fun quests.
Until the community got more immature to an extent of me hating the game but i actually still enjoy it despite the fact and im always private friends.
Crash Jordan
RuneScape.

Second is WoW. I'll probably go back to WoW once I max skill total on RuneScape, unless MechScape is out by then (unlikely.)
skyhi
i played 3 mmo
1-runescape in 2006
2-wow in 2008
3-eveonline in 2009

but the best is runescape becouse it have skills and the quest is best than wow quest

wow is an fight mmo only u fight and don't have anther thing to do fight fight fight

runescape u can do anything in it fight quest do any skill

eve i don't like it from the first try =D
Neven
I would say WoW like most others, although recently I've started to think that GW is a better game simply because its relaxing speed of gameplay.

I doubt runescape will die, Wow will never die until they start loosing money which will never happen.

Blizzard is making a 2nd mmo that may or may not cannibalize wow.

Star wars the old republic seems that it will be popular.

And aion is similar to wow but has different endgame mechanics it seems.

But yea games like runescape and wow will never die because its been at the top of its mmo branch for years
Dracul
i havent played many mmo's but, i think, Runescape, Gunz online and Silkroad were/are the best mmo's,

as lord john said, most f2p mmo's made by south korea, while arguably reasonably good graphics, are fantasy rip offs of Wow in some way or another.
killrrhubarb
Runescape, most probably. It has captured my time like no other, though guild wars seems fun.
jmb
Best MMO I played is RuneScape. Like others, I have looked elsewhere, but have not found any other game which has the variety of things to do and costs as little as RuneScape.

Really only text-based mmos come close in terms of the depth of the content in terms of having so many different methods of gaining xp or gold. But with the graphics of runescape as they are now, this is much better than looking at a wall of text.

Myn is Runescape.

Ive played it for years, and really haven't found any other I like.

mine is definatly WoW, unless you suck at playing an average skilled game or is unlucky to find good guilds then you should never be bored. getting to end game levels is not a grind in my opinion and when you do get to end game, you have lots of fun raiding and getting loot. the bad thing is playing with idiots who can't follow simple rules to bosses. if your in a good fun guild that raids often you would never get bored.

another bad thing is since you never get bored, you don't stop playing which is why i quit, sooner or later everyone finds out that WoW has done you no good in RL.

You can't play WoW for 1 hour a day, you would find the game boring if you so it' a endless cycle.

MMO'S I've played:

  • World of Warcraft
  • Guild Wars
  • Runescape
  • LotR Online
  • Warhammer Online
  • EVE Online
  • World of Kung Fu
  • Last Chaos

MMO'S I actually liked:

  • Runescape
  • Guild Wars

True, I've played WoW, and quit after 3 months of playing and went back to Runescape. A lot of people say I'm insane, but I call them stupid. WoW is a waste of time IMO, like any other game but they take it too seriously for it to be any fun. It's like a bluddy job.

Guild Wars is one of my favourites. Runescape wins over it, because it does blush.gif but only by a slight margin. It is one of the most relaxed MMO atmospheres I've ever played in. Such a nice storyline, no pressure to play it like WoW and the graphics are great.

Sorry, WoW is a good game but I just hated it. I'd rather play something that doesn't control me.

That's gotta be one of the funniest things I've seen in a while laugh.gif
