Full Version: 3.5 Years = Site release?
MechScape World > MechScape / Stellar Dawn > MechScape / Stellar Dawn Ideas & Rumours

FunOrb was worked on for 3.5 years. And Mechscape's 3.5 year anniversary is supposedly in november. HINT HINT???

I just hope it doesn't come out on the 11th. MW2 comes out.
blykon5
And - Jagex is apparently VERY strict about releasing it when it's ready. So how come they gave us a date? BECAUSE the date they gave us, IS THE LATEST. So they're saying " At the latest 2010".

i thought it was at the earliest 2010

I believe it was in the Eurogamer interview, they said the beta would be due early 2010.

I'd bet $20 that they're giving late dates so that people can have the mindset that it's not comin out for a while. Then BAM Monday morning - Welcome to StellarDawn.

No offense, but I really don't like your initial logic. To me it's like saying "Well Jagex released RSC on October 11, 2001 at 9:57 PM and they released FunOrb on December 11, 2008 11:57 PM, so MS will be released November 11 at 10:57 PM."

Obviously, the above situation is completely hypothectical, but the point I'm trying to get across is: Just because Jagex worked on a project for a certain amount of time, doesn't mean MS won't break from the status quo. It'd be clever, but delaying it for the sake of sticking to the status quo would be a nonsensical and whimsical thing to do, imo.

I doubt they base when they release their games on aniversarys wink.gif
Jagex aren't the sort of company that says 2010 then releases earlier. They will kepp polishing it as long as possible smile.gif
But if you polish to much, Does that damage the product? Like a bald guy with a shiny head tongue.gif
Pliigi
Jagex won't decide the release date based on some anniversary. And no, it's not a hint. ermm.gif

Like a bald guy with a shiny head? lol! yeah polish him so much you remove the flesh from his head.

I think it if Jagex is polishing the game when it's fully playable and has been for a while now, they might do a very short beta. 'Coz if they're bug fixing as well as adding final bits then there will be few bugs left which they'll want help catching. So they will probably release a small beta, followed shortly by a full release.

Would you want Stellar Dawn to be released sooner? With all those bugs still in and the little awesome stuff not added?

Or would you rather wait until Jagex has added just about all the little awesome things and removed almost all the bugs?

Personaly, I'd rather wait.
Tom
I too would rather wait. thumbsup.gif

I suspect they have finished the game, They are just getting updates ready in the pipline. So they get some time to think for more updates when MS is released.
Just my ideas tongue.gif
blykon5
I'm not basing it on the anniversary, I'm basing it on how long each project has been worked on and developed. And there were some updates in RS where they out of no where released something like 3 weeks ahead of what they said. MS being a new game, maybe 3 months ahead?

Variables are different. Different team; different CEO; different game; different time.
Trunkzta
why would jagex release it based on somethin like that ?

Because they're clever little bunnies.
ZarkonisR
Yes... But can you PROVE that they're clever and/or bunnies?
Gandaf007
Clever: http://www.mechscapeworld.com/forums/index...;hl=Easter+Eggs

Andrew (here's what he looks like IRL: ) spawned the rest of the Jagex team, so they must also be bunnies.

It's very simple logic, really.
TehBigGun
I don't care, I just want them to release it!
Trunkzta
LOL @ the easter eggs.
amersccrdude
It will be released when it's released. Stop coming up with all these "oh its the 200th year they've been working on it and it's going to be released soon!" Fact is, Jagex is slow. They want every game they make to be perfect but all they do is mess up the games as they try to fix them. I mean look at Runescape. It was fine before, but then they tried to "fix it," and now that game is one of the worse games out. I know Mechscape is going to released and everyone here is going to be like "oh this game blows," and i'll just be like " I told you so. Stop getting your hopes up. The game is going to be a huge disappointment :)

Stop flame baiting and stay on topic. It is not polite to tell someone to get out of the site, everyone is entitle to their own opinion.

That was impressive. Way to stop a flame war from starting, mr Mod :). Rare to see mods actually not fanning the flames.

i know right.

Oh, just for the record, my "fanning the flames" comment wasn't directed towards this site.
Explosion
dude MW2 comes out on the 10th of november?
Lord John
I seem to remember that it would be released in Q1 of 09 whistling.gif

I wouldn't think they'd care about keeping some date that was likely not intentional.

I would put it this way. say you're getting a hair cut. number one, you want to get it cut and even.. Ok I understand there is probably some of you who are lik I DON'T CARE I JUST WANT A HAIR CUT, well lets just say you're that popular kid at highschool, cool.gif you want to get it cut, so it looks nice and even and everything but not because last time you were here it was 4:32 when you finished you wouldn't say ok 4:32 I'm done, you would wait until every single hair is even geek.gif so you could get all the ladies kiss.gif . yes that's right, jagex is waiting for all of the ladies. Well ok, I hope you guys get the point. All of the smileys are just in case some people can't understand english maybe they'll see the smileys and be like, Ich verstehe und stimme vollständig mit Logan.

Far from it. Despite what you will admit, RuneScape has improved significantly from "before."

I also notice that people use "before" to usually mean when they didn't know much about the game, ie when they first started. When they start becoming a high level and getting disillusioned about the game, that's when the game is horrible to them.

I don't think there are too many ladies waiting to play MS, mostly men.

I get your point, they're trying to make it "perfect" which isn't going to happen.
