Full Version: Mechscape Planet Idea

Well, I was thinking if JaGeX might include the Sol System in the planets in the game, assuming there is interplanetary travel.
For example, RuneScape isn't on Earth, bot on, well, Gielenor. But in Camelot, King Arthur makes reference to Earth, hinting towards it's existence in the RuneScape universe.
I was thinking if maybe you could travel to a futuristic Earth, Mars, etc. like in another popular Space Age game, Spore.
Just a thought. Discuss?

Sounds great!
I`d love to see what spaceships they could come up with. As well as all the planet surface textures :)
Nice idea thumbsup.gif

Best idea i've read in a while biggrin.gif

And adding more planets would be awesome! New planets=new creatures, new surfaces, new places to explore, new things to build/add to your own stuff ect:

It sounds fantastic just thinking about it happy.gif

Making planets doesn't sound likely. If you want to do that kind of stuff, well, I have Spore and despite what many others think, its a great game for stuff like that. The amount of custimization in Spore is off the scale, and I'd like to think MechScape has a lot of cutimization too, but making planets would be over the top.

It would be cool if planets worked like WoW Zones.

Like the moomoo planet is where we start off, (kinda like a tutorial) (get lvls 1-10 or so) and once we finish the tutorial we build a basic ship that flies us to our next area!

that would be cool :P

You're probably right, there will be a solar system:

I had the priviledge of working with Thomas during a crucial stage of one of the most complex projects I ever managed. Few artists can claim their work inspired the creation of a whole planetary system, and Tom is one of them. Looking forward to the opportunity of working with him again.

I'm thinking... Pliigi planets, Human planets (Will we be seeing any 1960's-style futures?), Probably more futuristic planets, but closer to truth.

If we have the Jagex equivalent of Coruscant... I'll be ecstatic.

With the way we treat our planet it won't last another 100 to 200 years. Soooooo thats destroys that idea. And earth is the only inhabitable planet in our solar system. And Jagex said this has NOTHING to do with runescape. sooo yea. sorry...

I still find it funny how everyone opens their arms and say, "Great Idea!" to every Planet Topic as though it has never been thought up of before... we already have a number of topics on the matter of other planets.

In anycase, in my False War fan-fiction of MechScape. Factions (Races) have their own individual Galaxies, coupled with many planets, moons and space colonies that revolve around highly populated planets. Gielinor and Earth (remember this is a fan-fict) are also major planets for the MW Federation Alliance (mostly human-humanoid alien faction).

(Oops, forgot to put at least something piratey for this post)

You are in fact wrong.

NASA is working on large, very heavy, machines designed to polute atmospheres of moons or planets. Once those machines are ready they will be dropped off on mars

Give it 10 years after that and humans will be on 2 planets.
