Well since its a scifi game there is a large possiblity there will be planets and i decided to make a list of possible planets for the game.

here it goes:



Pliigania(give me ideas for the names im not very creative lol.): A very large planet completely overgrown by large amounts of plant life. Very humid and rainy. Used to be very similar to earth. However a very small virus got into animal and caused them to mutate into plant based lifeforms. Home to the pliigi, a very violent race who are not big fans of any other planets lifeforms. Smartest creatures in the galaxy. Uses reason to make houses, ships, and other items from plants.

Izola(means isolated in Esperanto) : Cold barren rocky planet. It is a small planet far from its star. The only known creature to inhabit the surface of the planet. (hundreds live in the hollowed out center. They have no DNA, they are completely made of rock, no one knows how they are even alive.

Trash planet 654,735(gaxaxy coordinate) (home to the andriods(mechs).) Planet created by a nanochip getting stuck into orbit that collected trash over thousands of years. Humans dump their trash on the planet. Filled with toxic fumes and vapors. Somehow gave life to the trash eventualy see this thread post for more deatails. Mapossa III: A small but highly polulated Human-occupied planet home to over 10 billion people. worst planet in the entire galaxy. Filled with rouges and wrought with war. Humans mostly inhabit this cold desert planet. "The silver world" is its nickname due to most of its surface covered in gigantic city ruins, creating the illusion that the planet is made of silver.
Oxigyin levels are low and you need a filter to breathe on it. There are few resourses and animals. Many cival wars are happening over the resources. Many humans have left the planet in search of food and water.

Tirmin - The home planet of the Ani-Humes and Saurians. It is very similar to Earth, however, has a greater flow of trade from outside the MW System.

Dasugar - The home planet for the Greys and Greens. Most are kind and friendly, heavy influence on the MWF's technology. The planet is highly industrialized and mechanically enhanced.

Marinblau - A watery planet with lush oceans. Inland contains large swamps and forests. Home planet for the Kappa. Strangely, appearances and behavior are much similar to those of folklore.

Gielinor - An ancient planet that seems to hold many mysteries. One of the planets humans where an ancient race may have sent them here... Homeland for many humans and creatures that have appeared in Earthern Myths... Humans here seem to understand ancient forms of Telepathy and Psychokenetics.

Sinidile - A tropical, watery planet. Not an origin to any intelligent race, this planet is highly populated with mixed races from all over the universe. The planet attracts tourists, due to its nearly all year round tropical climate, and lush, beautiful beaches and oceans. This planet holds many Air Bases, one being Neres Air Base.

Inich (Silent H, just thought it looked good): Large forest planet with extreme oxygen levels. On Inich the oxygen levels are over 40% and a mere 6.8% carbon dioxide. Because of the high oxygen levels most insects are at sizes that range from 2 to 8 meters. Ice is often found on the tops of the trees as the planet is revelively cool, however the density of the forest warms up beneath the treetops. This is a very hostile place, so never come unprepared. Ventos, a planet that suffered and horrific cataclysmic effect making the planet nothing but a giant air bubble with millions of land fragments called "Sky Isles" floating around. All indigious life here has died out except for the Glisilo, The Sky Gliders (credited to Yeti)

Thylia

This planet is half the size of earth but has an atmosphere five times as thick. Air pressure can reach a deadly level and crush a human's skeleton almost instantly. This planet had been deemed uninhabitable, but recent studies show that there are small insects in the dense clouds, feeding off carbon dioxide and radiation from the planet's blue giant star. The surface of the planet is so hot that if a space ship landed there it would melt in seconds. Temperatures can reach up to 700 degrees on the equator. The planet rotates at such a speed that one day would last just seven hours, while its orbit around the star takes 50 earth years. (credited to RhamKota)

Themius.

An old, dead planet orbiting a white dwarf star. This once watery world is now frozen by the lack of heat from the star. Humans have build various outposts over the past 100 years, but none of them lasting long due to the extreme wind speeds ripping them apart. Heavily protected ships now come to this planet for its vast water supply. (credited to RhamKota)

Echo post 5- A military installation that the humans use to watch heruglina for signs of war
heruglina- A very mechanized world but the few organic lifeforms which are called the deerve that are over vast amounts of robot armys that the humans fear will cause a massive war.(credited to reven7)

zaroso - A planet that is a complete dump because of the people in charge with all of the war and disease it is a wornder it is still around it belongs to the humans and is belived to be one of the first planets ever populated in space by the humans. The two fractions on the planet right now are The Order and the rebels who are fighting all the time for control because of the war everyone on the planet has a side and there is no word of neutral on the planet.(credited to reven7)


Heliopa - Is a planet known but all about it is unknown because of the planet is made of anti-matter and as any one knows if matter comes into contact with anti-matter there is a huge explosion with both being destoryed but there are hopes of a very advance race on the planet because while watching the planet human's have seen ships flying in and out but we may never know.(credited to reven7)


Volcbora - Is a planet that is made entirely of a volcano and is the most used place for metals and other resources used by machines the whole planet is populated by robots that are owned by a mineing company called peolra mineing operations which is owned by a mix of races.(credited to reven7)


hretica - Is a planet with no life on it because of unfavorable conditions of a very hot surface and massive destructive storms that rage every day all over the planet and the only liquid ever on the planet is the acid rains that will eat any type of metal.(credited to reven7)


uniponia - Is a planet of peace that never has been in any war nor has been even colse to war because they are very far from any other race but have been discovered by earth expedition and exploration operations. The race has no name nor little of there orgion is known about them.(credited to reven7)

Vangeil - The meat planet composed of all different kinds of meat, known as the Human meat wasteplanet, where all meat is thrown in. (credited to Human)

Amorlav - The planet of love, Everybody will Love/like Everybody(credited to Human)

Kristalo- A planet that was bombarded with hundreds of millions of special crystals when it was still in its young stages. The crystals can carry and absorb energies, resulting in a wide variety of landscapes on the planet. Now every landscape has many large crystals in the area. Many of the original energized crystals are deep down in the planet so many mining operations have been started by all races to retrieve them. (credited to the new blue Yeti)

I was thinking Earth probably wouldn't be one of the main planets, i was thinking more of a seperate galaxy sort of thing where all the livable planets (or home worlds) are close together, for as you know, there aren't any other livable ones near (in a present technology sort of way) to Earth. Maybe something else, but I like the idea for the Human-ish planet.

A new take on Earth is what i have in mind.

Earth: An abandoned global wasteland with freak weather and ruins of cities. Now virtualy unhinhabitable, Humans must move on and continue to explore the universe.

Mortuss: Home planet of the Mortiga. This rocky landscape seems lifeless but beneath the surface the Mortiga thrive on natural resorcess deep underground. This cold dead world orbiting a white dwarf star is rich with minerals and ores usable by most intelligent races.

Toastona.

This planet is ruled by toasters, the bread slaves work in the electrum mines to keep their toaster masters running constantly. Due to the intense heat created by the toasters the bread slices eventually succumb to a process known to them as toastification. Once a slice has been toasted it is sold off world for other energy forms to power the toasters.

MW Federation Planets (All races that live in or near the Milky Way Galaxy)

Cybernetic Adapted Planets - (A Galaxy of Robots that have a distinct hate for all things biological
A branched off faction that are usually hostile, but not always, to all biological life. Ancient leaders seem to be created from the same Ancient Race that scattered the humans across their galaxy, research is ongoing.
They seem to hate Androids and Cyborgs much more than other biological creatures, even though Androids aren't usually biological.
Originally closed off to other factions, they seem slightly open now, but all tourism and travel in this quadrant is highly suggested to be avoided. One theory suggests that the robots have used up too many amounts of their metals to constantly build, and now seek to trade with other factions to gain access to more.

Ultiem - Many other factions are still deciding whether to call this a planet or not. It is a large ball of metal, and serves as the main command center for the Cybernetics. Brimming with extremely complex and advanced buildings and structures, factions still wonder where the Cybernetics obtained all of these materials to build such things.

Of course there are more planets, but I am too lazy to name and describe them right now...

If RuneScape is incorporated into MechScape as some of you seem to think, I think there's a good possibility that we'll see more stuff like the Portal of Life or the World Gate. Or maybe some other portals that connect different planets/galaxies together.

As for other planets, I would love to see a forest planet like Endor in Return of the Jedi. Here's my idea.

Actualy I think mechscape WILL have swords. Except they'll be lighter, sharper and fold up inside the hilt.

I think some planets will just be molten rocks. Good place to mine, and gather lava and other metals.

Stars are molten gas and with millions of nuclear reactions going off every second. Molten balls of lava are not stars, they are planets that are very young, very hot, and contain high amounts of radioactive materials. Think of the Earth when it formed, it's not like it just kind of started with green grass and oceans.

Solus, A Very hot planet which is all desert and lava. Has very many unlivable spots. Has about 18 moons, Home planet of the Islad Race.

We know there will be 13 planets and 'countless' moons, so there will probably be all sorts of different kinds of environments for doing different stuff.

Including molten moons that are great for mining...

There's another mining method that could be used in Stellar Dawn. Graphite mining (I assume you can mine graphite, seeing as it's only carbon)

Mine graphite, made only from carbon, re-arrange the atoms, and get diamonds. That could be how the galaxy's economy becomes strong :P

To be honest I am gonna be a mech in a robot made work which shall probably be perfect. I can imagine it. All steel and really beautiful.
