Hey all!
Reading through stuff as I usually do, I noticed this image from a fansite, taken from the RS K-Base. Just go to the Special Attacks page and scroll down to Dragon Pickaxe.
Do you see any difference between that image and the Dragon Pickaxe ingame?
There was also some file that contained models for RuneScape objects that anyone could view. I looked through it and found the exact same model...it was a Pickaxe, but looked like a double-headed Dragon Hatchet type thing. I don't have the pic of it, and the file has been taken down (as far as I know). Could this just be an early attempt at the Dragon Pickaxe? Discuss.

Yes, probably. I doubt there are two Dragon Pickaxes ingame.

It was most likely the first animation but they changed it when they did the rest of the pickaxes. It's not nearly as cool.

Also, I don't understand what's different, due to the lack of having a dragon pick.
But as far as I know, I would agree that this was most likely just an early attempt.

That's pretty sick, I'll admit.
I would buy it if I had more than 300k right now.
But, uh, yeah. I'd say it was definitely an early attempt and there was a lot of improvement.

That "old" dragon pick was on the banner above the high scores a few months before the dragon2hander came out. Jagex removed it very shortly thereafter.

Looks like they were planning to use the previous dragon pick-axe in game for a while, before they thought better of it and put this much cooler looking one in instead. Good choice really.
