Mod MMG: We will do an announcement on mechscape soon

How soon? We've heard the word 'soon' multiple times now.

Although, still gets the hype a little back up...

"Soon," like you said, has been used by Jagex a lot in regards to MechScape. I don't think this really signifies anything new.

So what else is new? We knew MechScape was coming out soon for about several months now.

and It will be out soon for a few more months. It'll be out early next year.

It doesn't say that it is coming out.

All this says is that there will be an announcement about MechScape. That could mean anything.

The announcement will be:

'We are cancelling mechscape.'

It's an announcement (not an interview). The very word announcement implies some kind of information.

Ive actually heard "soon" so much from Jagex that im immune to it.

However, Very soon would be different.

They've already said that as well and "so close it hurts."

I don't believe em on stuff like that anymore.

Well, someone did say that they would be releasing the official name "soon"..

Aww they did? :/ guess you cant trust jagex with release dates at all then.

Hopefully with their Announcement comes some of the following:

- A rough release date
- New info on the game ( What it will be like and such )
- Official name
- Screenshots

that's not really a lot to expect from an announcement.

I just want the site up at least a month before the game will be up. Then im happy xD

They've even said very soon as well in other interviews so eh

I concur that Jagex saying they'll do an announcement soon isn't the same as saying MechScape will be released soon. However I am quite interested in what they will announce. I expect that they'll announce the name. Them announcing a rough release date or that it'll be called Stellar Dawn wouldn't be a surprise but it would be good to hear such confirmations direct from Jagex instead of filtered through an unreliable interview or whatever. More information or a screenshot would be a treat, although I'm guessing they'd rather provide such things to media outlets or fan sites as they have been doing so far and besides such an activity wouldn't be considered so much an "announcement" as just giving us information. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I've renamed the thread from "Announcement of 'MechScape' coming soon :)" to "'Mechscape' announcement coming soon :)" as I think that is more accurate.

Stellar Dawn<< the new name for mechscape, will be released soon, we just though we would like to tell you that officialy, it's still not awsome, there are still 10 bugs that need fixing and some cars to polish mm shiny!
gota wait till it's awsome, you know what they say! it's quite close now, but you need to be paitient, we are excited more than you are.It's coming along really nicely, there is just a tiny winy bit left over to do.

Jagex's definition of the word "soon" differs greatly from what we humans think of the word "soon". "Soon" in Jagex's terms could mean another year, honestly!

I read a quote saying that Andrew thought the name would be confirmed very soon.
So that could be part of it.

Honestly, I'm VERY, VERY sure that it's the name. That's it.

Nothing to be excited about, really. We already pretty much know it for a fact that the name will be Stellar Dawn. Because, why bother changing the client's code if it's not for sure? Hmm? Obviously they wouldn't just do it for the "lulzies"... Actually, since we're talking about Jagex...

Anyway, don't get excited. Just don't. You'll be disappointed.

how frustrating

I do recall seeing the "beta will be released next year" in a gaming interveiw.

The announcement would probably be to inform RS players of its existence, give the official name, and only go to www.mechscape.com (or a domain for whatever the name is, such as www.stellardawn.com)

They will give info we already know, and say it is coming soon. Twelve years later, they will be proven to be people of a true word.

This actually pleases me. An announcement is different from releasing the whole game, so they can do an announcement any time.

Hopefully they announce it on some sort of official website however...

Pretty much all I'm hoping for are the middle two (new info and name), and hopefully not getting my hopes up too high in the process.

soon could mean anything...it could mean tommorow, it could mean next week, it could be next year, it could mean when mmg is long dead, when one very antsy wannabe player creates biologicly correct versions of the pliigi who will eventualy take over the world and enslave the human race and destroying every known rs player or anyone who has ever muttered the word "jagex" or "mechscape", who knows with jagex really. It better come out soon. And what is 10 bugs really. It only takes them an hour or 2 to fix an update bug in rs.

I think he's referring to the Q&A with Andrew Gower when someone asked if they would have a theme for next year and he said next year will be the "year of awesomeness."

Exactly my thoughts, not going to get my hopes up for nothing. They announce it they announce it, nothing big, unless they release a trailer with it, which then would hype me up. Otherwise I'm not hyped at all, sadly.
