Well, my AP Literature class is currently going over Characters with symbolic themes and such. My teacher made us read over the Prologue in the Canterbury Tales and look at how Geoffrey Chaucer described characters. After which, we were given an assignment to make a character description in a similar manner Chaucer does... by describing outside traits, then inside traits. We didn't have to make it rhythm, but I thought it would be more fun.

Oh and yes... my teacher calls the assignment "The Englewood Tales." happy.gif

Anyways-

“The Englewood Tales – The Cadet”

Alas, there was the JROTC cadet,
A young man that would never forget,
Any done deed that was right or wrong.
He knows where everyone should belong,
He finds himself amongst the popular and strong.
Highly fit, and highly well known,
His body was as tough as the hardest stone.
Standing tall with an emotionless face,
He had the strengths any other student wished to embrace.
Popular amongst all the classes,
He would smile and look onward amongst the masses.
Unfortunately, this man held much anger,
He is an unknown threat that poses much danger.
His back was rifled with cuts and scars,
Also decorated with burns from lit cigars.
Unable to vent his stress,
And unwilling to confess,
The treatment of his past,
From his abusive parents that will forever last.
Hiding his frustration for all things little,
From friendly jokes and the sight of whittle,
His anger slowly builds up nearly hypnotic,
And eventually he shall become psychotic.

Wow, what an interesting character tongue.gif
Nice work smile.gif Some of the words could be taken out to make the rhythm and number of syllables work better, but nice job.
