Full Version: The "Mechscape" official website.. question..
MechScape World > MechScape / Stellar Dawn > MechScape / Stellar Dawn Ideas & Rumours

Don't you think that Jagex would release the website before the actual game? I know they said they didn't want a "hyped" release. But think about it.

If the site is released, they will have more info about the game on it. Meaning that they would gain new "Non RS" players to the game, but it will also give players a better idea of what the game is about, and they will decide before the game is out if they will play it or not.

Also, it would possibly reduce the OMFG THE SITE / GAME IS UP type people out. The site would have had more time to settle and not crash due to hundreds of thousands of people trying to get on at once.

Just a thought.. Discuss.

Interesting thought. I too hope they launch the website before the game, so that less people try to play at once and crash the servers.

But whatever happens, Jagex will release the game no matter what.

It may be interesting if they open up a splash screen before the actual release. But that wont be for a while, if it ever happens.

I belive they`ll do a fun-orb. Get the site up, But don`t tell anybody.
Then release like two weeks later on the offical date.

I`ll doubt they will make a site advertising it with trailers e.t.c. Thats just not Jagex..
Neven
Yeah, if they do release a Website, the game will eventually be released, within a Month tops.
Pliigi
I'm pretty sure Jagex will put up a splash page before the beta begins. yes.gif

I think if they were going to do that they would have already done it.

There going to try and market it through surprise IMO.

Example: "OMG GUYS, THIS NEW WIN MMO CAME OUT OF NOWHERE!"

Instead of: "Zomg is this **** ever coming out?" (us)

We were lucky enough to find out about mechscape under the radar (not illegaly, but jagex isn't exactly advertising ms at all, we are just finding out about it).

This website also works with there plan, making us anticipate the game and imagine what it will be like, a website would take away from our valuable curiosity.

I agree with Pligii though, a website advertising a soon to be beta would be put up a week or so before release.
