Most of us by now know about the up coming MMO by you guys codename "Mechscape", but
it seems you guys have gone with the name "Stellar Dawn", can you confrim this? Also any
new on the Beta?
Andrew's Answer:
MechScape is indeed a codename, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to confirm the real name yet, although I believe the name will be announced soon. Work is still ongoing, it's going to a be a while yet. Want to make it better!
They want to make it better? Jesus! Also he can't say about "Stellar Dawn".

No Ore Left asks:
I heard in order to advance in MechScape you have to "search and conquer and explore". Can you elaborate on that?
Answer:
I really can't talk about MechScape here sorry. I'm going to skip MechScape questions from now on. So If you asked one and I ignored it please don't be offended. Just can't talk about it.

"Soon"
That's kind of like having a baby and not naming her for 2 years and referring to her as Baby. Makes no sense to me. But hey... They're Jagex, they don't have to make sense. And they usually don't.

well, it's not the mechscape Q&A, so it was kinda silly to expect a decent mechscape answer out of him.
Well that settles it then, its gone back to the drawing board for further work, polishing it my a$$.
Settle back for a while methinks, and don't bother holding your breath - 'just can't talk about it' sounds more like he doesn't even want to think about it right now!

A: Well I think the game could always use more Penguins, but I don't think the content team would let me mess up the in depth back story and history of the god wards they are building up by inserting a penguin god :) Wouldn't really fit with everything else.

He isn't the one running the Mechscape development. He owns the company and oversees operations, but he works on the engine. If the rest of the mechscape team isn't ready to disclose stuff, then he is not going to go against them just because he is the "owner" because he probably understand why they are taking their position. Why do you have to insult the man? I'm tired of people trolling on Jagex and it's employee's because you aren't getting info. You think we will get something if they see this community is a bunch of trolls?

"It's going to a be a while" What happened to soonish?
At this point I think it's best they just release the beta. They've already said it's practically done and are just coming up with ways to make things a little better. It sounds like they're trying to make it literally perfect, which they really don't need to do since they have the freedom of updating it.
So right now they're just dragging their tail by trying to find any little thing wrong with the game and delaying it as long as possible.
As much as I'd like them to take their time, I doubt anyone could call the game rushed if they went ahead and released it now.

Also by them dragging their tails, they are getting free advertisment (cant spell that well) since all these huges Gaming Websites and Mag's are wanting in on "Mechscape", so in one way they can just drag it and get more and more people wanting to play the game and when the day comes to realse... 1m+ people would be playing.
But yeah I really want the Beta to be out in a month or 2, or it will be taking the pee.

Nope, very few people actually know what MechScape is. When the game's release the people that followed it when it was named "MechScape" will be a very tiny percent of the overall population.

I'm honestly beginning to think that they really haven't been working on it for years, or that they just decided to scrap their old plans because the game sucked so bad. I'm not hating on Jagex or anything, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come out for a couple more years. I mean think about it, we've only gotten "concept art" and no actual gameplay footage. What if they're still in the drawing stages of development? Or just a little further?

No, that's just how Jagex works. They saw people were getting unrealistic impressions from "soon" and people were complaining about soon so they decided to just shutup about it. When an MSW member hears "soon" they lash out at Jagex.
The game will not suck, I believe they're serious about the finishing touches bit and want to take their time to get everything right. I'm not faulting them on it.
No-info - Jagex hardly gives previews of not-released content. Nobody saw the changes to autocasting spells coming, for example. It was a total positive(least to me) surprise.
The one thing I think they've failed on is not having an official website.

I just wanted to point out that "final polishing" and "it'll be a while yet" are not mutually exclusive statements. There is a difference between polishing a candlestick, and polishing the Eiffel Tower.... something with as much depth and size as they suggest Mechscape will have is naturally going to take quite a bit of time to polish up.
Certainly they have changed from "soon", as it seems that people were assuming that means "this week", or "next week" or "the week after". I don't have a problem with that, though I agree with the poster above, not having any sort of splash page is a mistake. Perhaps that will come when they announce the name, which sounded like it was coming soon (ooh the irony

).

Hopefully a site and some screenshots of the game will come with the confirmed name, Although i think most of us believe Stellar dawn will be the name, Will be nice for jagex to confirm it finally.
I dont see the need for them to be making it more awesome though, if its supposed to be fully playable and in final polishing phases.
By making it more awesome do they mean add more content to it? Im sure theres enough content already, considering they said it will be the size of runescape on release.

I doubt they`ll release the site until the games playable. They`ll confirm the name, And possibly a screenshot, But that seems unlikely.
This ain`t Blizzard, Its not a make it OK, then make expansions to buy. They obviously want the game to be good as soon as its released. As discussed Runescape relies heavely on word of mouth, And if the first people to play it don`t like it, they`ll tell their freinds not to play.

I agree with this. Jagex isn't one of those companies that wants to release it at a certain time, regardless of whether it is OK or not, but rather a company that wants to be silent about the game, building up hype for those who know about it, and then they release it without warning and it draws in players and overly works.
