Yes my friends, forum avatars are indeed coming to the official runescape forums, why you ask? Look at this:

Enter your name in the line where it says jonweasel, you can see yours too. It may be leading to something bigger, but who knows?

it gives me a "test image" what does it mean?

It's like a placeholder, until Jagex releases it you will be able to have your own avatar there. For now, it will stay as "test image"

I wonder if we'll be able to choose off-site images or not...there's always the chance of an inappropriate image from some random idiot, but Jagex wouldn't want that. But they wouldn't want everyone with the same boring images...hm.

maybe every single item and head, and armor combinations.... would be cool.

I'd like it if our avatars were a picture of our ingame characters, heh.

Doubt they'll let you set your own avatar outside of a few select ones they offer.

well i don`t think this proofs anything u know why? because of a link that says test image and u can modify it? this means just what the autor wanted to mean

Avatars are going to be fun. Instead of memorizing someones names, you can recognize someone now by their avatar.

Avatars will be fun, aslong as they are a reasonable size and customizable. 50x50 or 75x75 is just too small. 100x100 or 150x150 are much easier sizes to work with.

You could probably use your chat head. That would be interesting.

Sort of similar to the Wow forums.
They are great. They have your level, link to armoury page, Faction and picture of your character.

It'd be pretty cool if we could like get a picture of something we really like (for me..Mayble, H3 CoD4 or something like that) but still, its a really cool idea.

That will be nice, I can't wait for the forums to be updated.
