This does not give an exact idea on the release date, just a more attracting title.

People discovered that the client, that before the release of Rune Tek 5, would say "MechScape is loading, please wait..." after changing the variable "game" to 2. After release of RuneTek5, the name was changed to StellarDawn. (http://www.mechscapeworld.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9060&st=20&#entry126592)

Now, we can assume RuneTek5 would have to be released before MechScape, considering it takes many things from it. And it has been released.

Another thing we can expect to come before MechScape is Name Changing, which, I believe, will be released, at the latest, September 22nd. I believe we will see it on 15th.

However, I'm not sure if I think they will release MechScape on the same day, or even within a month of this. Why? First of all, the beta is supposedly going to be released in early 2010, but that just might be speculation. Secondly, Jagex wants it to be a surprise - they see our speculation, and don't want us to be waiting around f5-ing MechScape.com, waiting for a release.

An interesting thing is how Java allows Jagex to reuse code so much. I doubt that the same exact client is used for RS as SD but rather the loading portion of the client decides what else it needs depending on a few variables and what is available on the computer already.

I sure hope it comes out soon.

I don't think our speculation puts them off releasing it. I'd be utterly shocked if they released it this year (or any time in the next two years for that matter.) It's taken so long that I kind of just want it to be released.

i am just tired of all the waiting and "soons" that jagex keeps throwing at us. It's getting on my nerves.

Jagex is building up the hype. They are doing what giant conglomerates do like Blizzard do. The longer they keep us in suspense and give us something to talk about such as the "mechscape load" the more word gets around about their product.

Actualy jagex said in a recent interview that they're certain MechScape will go into a public BETA by early 2010.

Before they wil lrelease it there should be a beta for all the bugs.

I agree with you about the features that its been said to have. So the name changing will come before MechScape, which means MechScape could probably come out a month or two later. But who knows?

I just hope its released before or after MCR drops their new album. i cant listen to new songs and play a new game at the same time :(

For people saying that there should be a BETA, this is not going to happen. I'm sure that jagex spent more time 'polishing' it so that they were certain that there are no bugs. This way we don't have to go through the BETA, if you think about it they would have released the game in MARCH 2009 if they threw a BETA out. Though they didn't. It's been 6 months, and it's most likely that they are going to give a release date now that they are done. After giving the announcement of the release, this will be their hype building method.
