An assumption I have is that this MMORPG will be like other RPGs, where it can also rely on skills found in other games. Such as the ability to jump, having to dodge/avoid enemies, actually having to aim, requiring timing to do things, etc.
Thoughts?

there are plenty of RPG or MMORPG games out there that let you do exactly that..
And besides, those are Fantasy RPG elements, from what I understood Mechscape is not a Sci-fi game dressed using fantasy mechanics.
When I think of Mechscape, the first thing comes into mind is the battle between the humans and the machines in the Matrix Revolutions.. now that is something I would love to be a part of.

Those upgradable skills are exactly what Jagex has said they will not have. They will have something, but we don't know what (likely to be quest or item based)

Every thing takes time... logging in, talking to friends, figuring out what the hell to do next, etc.

Umm, i think this is quite a good idea, as in RuneScape if you are a skiller, then maybe if you are the same kind of thing in MechScape then that would be quite useful. Even for low levels that are on their way getting better it would be useful.
