What is Section 8?
Section 8 is a large-scale, sci-fi first person shooter where fast-paced action meets military strategy in the far reaches of the galaxy. Join the epic battle between the 8th Armored Infantry and the Arm of Orion by taking part in fierce squad-based combat across majecstic alien worlds.

Choose the experience you want to play by customizing your own equipment loadouts, and dynamically manipulate the flow of combat with on-demand vehicle requisitions, strategic asset deliveries, Dynamic Combat Missions, and than ability to drop anywhere on the battlefield from 15,000 feet above.

On a completely player-driven and dynamic battlebield, no two games of Section 8 will ever play the same.

Story of Section 8
A new kind of war demands a new kind of warrior

On the war-torn planets of tomorrow, mandkind's greatest battle is about to begin. With its frontier colonies devestated by a growing insurrection, called the Arm of Orion, Earth dispatches the elite 8th Armoured Infantry (nicknamed "Section 8") to repel the coming onslaught.

The nickname refers to a discharge from an old United States military regulation for reason of being mentally unfit for service. The near-suicidal missions this division volunteers for brands them as insane by all other military units.

Section 8 deploys directly into battle from their orbital dropships, utilizing the most advanced arsenal of military hardware known to man. Their mission: to scout and secure difficult objectives, and smash the enemy defenses in lightning-quick assaults.

Section 8 Weapons
AR-548 "Scimitar" Assault Rifle

The Scimitar Assault Rifle is standard issue to every USIF soldier. This is devastating weapon is fitted with a MK2 Electro-Magnetic Jacketing system and fires a 15mm case-less armor-piercing round. The MK2 EMJ system layers each round into a harmonically tuned electromagnetic frequency, allowing it to wear down shields faster and makes it particularly effective at tearing through the armor of enemy infantry.

MOR-94 "SlegdeHammer" Heavy Pistol

The SlegdeHammer heavy pistol is the newest evolution of the revolver and is preferred for its accuracy, quick rate of fire and effortless reloading. Its lower muzzle velocity makes it an ineffective weapon at extreme ranges, but large caliber slugs (.65 caliber round) more than make up for it with tremendous amounts of ballistic force in close encounters. The SlegdeHammer has proven effective under fire and is an ideal backup weapon for combat deployment.

R-KMG7A "Ripsaw" Kinetic Machine Gun

The R-KMG7A Ripsaw heavy machine gun is fitted with a MK2 Electro-magnetic jacketing system, which allows for the seamless chambering and firing of high-velocity, incendiary armor-piercing rounds. With its large magazine and rapid rate of fire, the machine gun excels in multiple-threat engagements. It is not as suited for long range combat as the assault rifle, but its massive slug (18mm caseless armor-percing round), tremendous rate of fire and large ammo drum makes it a devastating weapon in any enemy encounter. Its slower reload rate can be overcome with proper use of cover.

Section 8 Vehicles
MA3 "Kodiak" Heavy Armor

The MA3 is an highly mobiel, heavily armored vehicle operated by a single USIF infantry unit. With full NUBIOCHEM support as well as a layer of titanium-reinforced synthetic muscle system underneath a tritum-alloy exoskeleton, the Kodiak Heavy Armor is the anvil of the Mechanized Infantry Patton-class cureently in service. Originally designed as infantry support armor, the Kodiak Heavy Armor provides superior support firepower and enhanced protection, as well as point defense and counter-battery fire against enemy positions.

I've been stalking this game for a few weeks now, I plan on playing it for a while.

I like the orbital drops and vehicle drops, it seems like the game play will be very diverse.

This looks like a game to watch...

and it appears it's on the Xbox, PC, and PS3. At least that's what I got from Gamespot.

Yeah, was just making sure if I decided on something I'd be able to get this game... Since I'm still kind of torn between ps3/xbox, and I need to upgrade my consoles. Still using PS2 for games. down.gif

I came here to make a comment about the section 8 rental voucher program, but I believe you already have. From my experience, it's mostly blacks who ask about section 8, and don't care what the house looks like when they move out since someone else is paying for it. The Mexicans are very hard workers. My parent's own 6 or 7 rental properties and we have quite a few good stories... Drug deal gone bad, every one in the house got shot. Then one guy refused to pay rent so we seized his stuff legally. He came back with a unmarked van and tried to steal his stuff back. We've found a ton of cool items left in houses... A lot of people forget to check the attic when they move out.

Horrible choice of a name, lol. Maybe the maker(s) of Section 8 have to live of section 8 in order to pay for their game.

Damn blacks. Damn Mexicans. They are the cancer that is killing this country.

I'm going off topic and flame baiting at the same time. =D
