Full Version: Figure Out When MechScape is being Released

I was browsing the internet archives when I found this...

Basically it's just a simple little webpage saying:

I looked under the hid to see it's coding, and I think it's missing quite a few images. The page is dated to January 16, 2008. Anyways that's not the point. According to the FunOrb Wiki (Brought to you by Wikia). FunOrb was released on February 27, 2008. If this is true, then that means that 11 days before the actual release a small little "hint" was kind-of released.

In other words, possibly before MechScape is released we may get a similar web page change.

That type of page is called a "splash." (RuneScape's Splash)

Yes, MechScape might have a splash but we'll probably know about MechScape's imminent release before that.

Oh ok thanks, and quick question... Did people know about FunOrb before the splash screen was shown? I think I remember playing on FunOrb before Jagex even posted it on the runescape "recent news".

I personally didn't know about it until a week before FunOrb.com was launched (the splash). I'm sure other people knew sooner, though.

Yes, FunOrb was up for about a week before they posted it on RuneScape.com

Yes. Earliest I know of FunOrb being discussed was 18th of July 2007. It was launched on the 27th of February 2008.

i remember seeing that thing!

i was gonna change my password, where it told me to only enter my rs password on runescape.com or funorb.com.

i checked funorb.com and saw that picture and the text

Same here. I remember play on it for a bit before they posted on RuneScape as well. They did a quiet release.

Agreed. All of us RuneScape and Funorb veterans will know what these guys are like.
