MechScape World > MechScape / Stellar Dawn > MechScape / Stellar Dawn Pictures & Artwork

Over the past few years I'm pretty sure we've all seen this image quite a lot...

- My guess is that it "HOPE" was written across it to tell people to have hope -

Now I just had to spoof the image, and I did by using a few examples from Obamicon.me by copying colors, layouts, etc...

- I wrote release to tell JaGex that we want release, and also because it looks pretty cool in my opinion heh :P -

Anyways yep that's it, feel free to use it in your avatar or signature. I may update it frequently possibly giving it bigger resolution or higher quality. If anyone could get me a better source picture for the "Mech" please contact me via PM or possibly in this thread.

Believe it or not, I think the quality is beautiful when it's an avatar. Just look at mine :D!

~Thank you, ReXgor

I like it and nicely done, plus its kind of funny.
but
I would rather wait and have them release it when there ready rather then telling them to release it, which would give them pressure and make the final stages of be put together frantically. smile.gif

I think thats why they hate release dates.

Thank-you lol, I think I heard of MechScape around late '07 so I've been waiting for quite a while as well. However it helps if you start playing another MMO or concentrate on something else.
Explosion
I like it and nice release avatar smile.gif But i alraedy though MechScape was coming in 2009.

Funny image, the colours in the background are just random lol.

They aren't random. They are based off of the image above it. Red, white, and blue are USA flag colors. I would had liked to see color relating to MechScape. (But we don't know them!)
Tom
I suppose they are. But the white and blues are not quite the right tones, I think thats why I didn`t realise it.
Lord John
Hehe, nice work. I would like to see a "Release" too :)

I got this from someone else, they were referring to another game company but it applies to Jagex (well with Mechscape to be specific) as well. Well here's what he said "they are perfectionists and don't seem to realize that perfection is unattainable."

Got that Jagex?

You don't understand what pressure they are under. MechScape gets ONE review from each major gaming website when it comes out. Unless they completely change the game again (which is unlikely) they will barely even get half to review the game again. It is a PR move and it is also a move that many companies are afraid to make. If Jagex were to release a game that wasn't tweaked right, they couldn't change it too much because players will always complain about the changes. What isn't know doesn't hurt the player. Patience is the key to this. If you don't have patience, stop thinking about MechScape. Your only going to ruin the experience when you do play the game.

I'm not too sure about it getting reviewed, it might get reviewed here and there but it's not going to get reviewed by all the major gaming sites. Most mmo's don't get reviewed (on all the major sites), so that's why I think it won't get reviewed a lot. It might get reviewed if they invite the sites to play it and review it, otherwise I see them passing it up.

They can still patch it during beta, that's what the beta is for. Hey, I can wait, it's just that they go around saying stuff like "so close it hurts," and then they don't come through. That's as bad as giving it a release date and not releasing it on that date.

I agree MMO's never get reviewed by the big-boys at IGN or Gamespot. Most of the time MMO's are left out, and are reviewed by smaller independent reviewers.

Especially RuneScape I've never seen anyone review RuneScape. A lot of people don't review most Jagex games because well, they're not... Like other games. Get what I'm saying?

I don't go to IGN or Gamespot so I wouldn't know about them.

I belive Runescape is the biggest online game in the world?
Now they are hardly not going to cover a new game coming from Jagex.

As Max said and I said, They get one chance to get some good reviews. They aren`t going to waste it wink.gif

Depends on what you mean the biggest, Wow (World of Warcraft) is the biggest Mmo based on active players (around 10 million+) Runescape might be longer in game play but i would say grinding items in raids/dungeons in wow is much more atractive then clicking the same thing over and over and over to get to lvl 99 such as fletching, woodcutting, mining etc.

Runescape is the biggest Free Mmo tho but i wouldn't call that a big achievment considering it's only the biggest because you have to do something repeatedly for years . it's like if Voyage Century ( which is a free game) made all their levels require alot more xp then they would get the achievment wouldn't they.

Tom
But its a game which lots of your freinds might play.
Its not un common to find someone that does play Runescape in your school.
And it is just a well known game. I`d expect there will be a review, But I may be wrong wink.gif

Anyways, We must get back on topic sad.gif
oribital
obviosly it would have reviews, and i agree, lots of people play runescape in my school, though most of them play and are like "wow i got a mith scimmy " xD

i never take into account reviews for games, or for anything in that matter, lots of people have different views, and to take your own decision based on someone else, is a rather stupid thing to do but unfortunately lots of people do take into account reviews, good or bad.

and the bad stuff about reviews is that people ussualy only make reviews if something is bad, and don't write anything if it's good, especcialy when it comes down to companies or e-shops.

and i agree, back on topic, the picture is very nice, and i do hope maybe it would bring the release date close now because it's getting frustrating checking the runescape site to see if a game not related at all to runescape is out (except the makers ofc)

The majority of MMO's don't get reviewed. They especially pass up reviewing free MMO's, I see Mechscape getting ignored by at-least half of the major game sites. Like I said before, the only way Mechscape has a chance of getting reviewed mostly everywhere, is if Jagex invite them to review it, otherwise they're most likely passing it up. Especially since Mechscape has very little publicity.

Also, Runescape is the most hated, I would think. Just go to any major game sites forums and you'll see (if a topic on Runescape ever comes up). I don't think Runescape is the biggest, unless you're referring to biggest browser-based game.

Ok WoW is becoming smaller and smaller compared to RuneScape in size of active players. RuneScape grew organically where you have Blizzard using aggressive advertising to gain members. Personally I feel that WoW has reached pretty much the peak of how many members it will get. RuneScape has been growing steadily and effectively the same rate since it started.

At the moment. WoW and RuneScape are practically the same size.

Are you talking about the amount of players or the game size? If so, no to both, WoW has several million more players and people who have played both say that WoW is so much bigger than Runescape in the amount of content, map size, etc.

I'm not sure about the content seeing as I've never played WoW before, just what I've heard. It does have more players though, for sure.

Edit: Never-mind, you're talking about the amount of active players, not the size of the game.

I agree a lot with your post. For one RuneScape is not a very uncommon game. The reason for being is because it has some very loyal players, and doesn't have a "expires after 10 days" type of free play. In other words the free play isn't just a trial, and the members aren't just the full game. It's been stated by JaGex before if I'm not mistaken that membership is just for the people who want more of RuneScape, an expansion if you will.

Now yes in school I've met a few people who also play RuneScape, but there combat lvl is in the lower 30's. In other words... They're noobs... I don't think that I have met anyone in real life, that I would like to play with in RuneScape. This is probably because RuneScape requires grinding and lots of it. I mean nobody but nerds like us would spend more than 3 hours training. We're all quite obsessed, and you know it yourself lol.

Now it's speculated that JaGex has an idea for MechScape and that is a "no grinding" idea. In my opinion this will be more of a game where the amount of time you've put into it does not matter, but your skill. I guess you could picture keyboard controls if the game were to end up like that. It'd work out fine however since JaGex knows that a lot of people get tired of RuneScape after lvls such as 10,20,30,40, or 50 because it takes forever to level up.

EDIT: I also agree reviews can be faulty. Everyone loves Mario Kart and I've purchased Double Dash, DS, and Wii, and well I can't find the enjoyment. Don't get me wrong it's a great game for 5 minutes until after you beat all the cups under 50cc and you have to annoyingly redo them on all the rest for more unlockables and such. However lots of people love the games, and why I don't really know.

Now please everyone back on topic.
