Okie, I'm thinking MechScape will probably be released on September 1st.

According to the latest dev diary, MechScape and RuneScape will both be using the Runetek 5 engine. We all know Jagex's stance on secrecy, so I find it odd they decided to talk about Runetek 5 now.

The MechScape Q&A was supposed to be this Thursday. I believe it was delayed because they're delaying MS to next week, and having the MS Q&A next week.

According to Mod Chris, the author of the dev diary, they didn't update this week to finish Runetek 5.

And my final piece of the puzzle, RSHD was launched on a Tuesday, which was July 1st, 2008. This coming Tuesday will be September 1st.

I may be completely wrong. Just my opinion :)

Sound like solid evidence, However I have seen a fair few people who have proof like this and it is all of similar quality (good).

I think it will be released soon thought, they seem to be opening up a bit about Mechscape (cancelled Q&A, recent Development diary) so may be.

I think thats too early considering the recent statements by Jagex, but eh, who knows.

I hope it is September the 1st. but I have my doubts

sorry to burst your bubble but Jagex has changed their major releases to wednesdays, but besides that, seems pretty accurate to me :)

Interesting thought... I'll be impressed if launches on September 1st, though.

I would be happy if it's released on Sept 1st, but I doubt it will be, I don't think Jagex have set their own release date yet - they're just testing and polishing until they feel that it's ready - god knows when that will be. >_<

Good evidence, Though I too doubt september 1st. I would think later in the year like November/December or early 2010.

they announced that mobilising armies (on runescape) was very soon to release several months before it came out, all the time promising it was near

You haven't played Jagex games for long, have you? If know a lot about them then you should know that Jagex NEVER has public release dates for anything. For all we know jagex could Launch MechScape BETA tomorrow! We just never know.

I think it will launch in 2011 because that will give us one year teh play teh game until teh apocalypse in teh 2012 teh lulz.

Here's something to think about...
Runescape's updates are on tuesday's/wendsday's, so would Mechscape's be on a different day or would they just update them both on those days ?

*sigh* The more I think about it, the more wrong I think I am. After re-reading the dev diary, and after today's diary, they'll probably wait until after they have DirectX ready, and display names ready.

If that is the case I would put money on display names and whatever easel being in Mechscape..... however I am not sure that is new info.

I really hope they do release it, however i am getting sick of this. we always have a reasons for a suspected realise date, and it never happens. It is almost like Jagex is reading these forums and crossing of days.(which i wish they would stop!)

they will prolly want to if display names works correctly and sort out any bugs before they release mech. i wish they would at least spare us some grief and open the Q&A already lol.

speaking of did they release a new date for the Q&A? or are they keeping that date a secret to lol. we wouldn't want a premature Q&A

The numerology of the date has no baring on the game's release it's just a coincidence..

It's been the Tuesday of next week forever for me, I hope you are right but I doubt it with all this recent backpedaling.

I can see your reasoning behind it, but it does seem a little soon. Maybe it's just that I'm so used to passing the release date that no matter how long I wait, I don't expect MS to come out for a month or two. But I really hope that your right!

I can almost gurantee it won't be released. Although Sept 1 may be the logical time to release it, logical isn't a word I associate with Jagex .

Knowing Jagex, Q2 of next year if we're REALLY lucky. All this name change stuff, cancel of Q/A and things Paul has said just make it seem as distant as ever.

Although this is great evidence, I have doubts.
Due to past similar events, it is more likely to be a late '09/early '10.

I imagine it would be in their best interest to get the game out before the Christmas season to maximize initial subscription potential. But then again JaGex doesn't follow marketing sense and they threw the book out the window! They will release it when they feel like it.

Well, it's the end of September 1st...and no mechscape. =P

Yeah, I figured my guess was wrong when the display names diary came out, and I found out monday was a bank holiday. Oh well, the speculation was fun :)
