I got tired of threads giving runescape weapons in space, or a "laser M-16" with images taken off of google search from other sci-fi games such as halo, or real life pictures. I mean, one dude actually took a pic of a Walther P99 with suppressor and red dot sight, and called it a laser gun. WTF! So, here is my take on futuristic guns without the use of google images. Deliberately not including model names or anything. Just know that these weapons are either magnetic, or projected particle weapons.












Here is my rough, crappy sketch of what I imagine more distant future soldiers to wear. Powered exoskeletal combat armor that will make every single soldier wearing one a super soldier, capable of surviving in any conditions, with access to a full sensor and information suite and automated health tracking systems, combat drugs, etc.

Here is a character concept I had a friend of mine draw for me. She left stuff out for me to fill in. This was going to be a character named "Cheryl Evolet" in one of my stories.

A comic idea I had. A soldier somehow ends up in a parallel fantasy world with elves and magic and such. Obviously, he kicks ass until he runs out of ammunition and his equipment starts to run out of energy, at which point he is forced to adopt the local ways, pick up a sword, and fight for survival in an on-going war as part of a resistance movement. He does this because there is a rumor of a magical gate way between worlds that the enemy has, so he searches for clues in order to find a way home through this gateway.

You're ideas for weapons look much better and more thought-out, which I applaud.

But I personally dislike the idea of super-suits, but I guess it's bound to happen eventually. If there was to be a super-suit I want it to be similar to the suit from Crysis in functionality. They just had it more believable than the Spartan suit from Halo, for example.

And does Cheryl's mother know she left the house wearing that?

Probably she doesn't. In all actuality she is supposed to be an officer of the affirmative action space fleet of the future armed forces of United Earth peace and love (AASFFAFUEPL). Yeah, forget the UNSC; the AASFFAFUEPL is the shizz :)

But seriously.

As far as Halo goes, it's very unrealistic, because the suit that Master Chief wears is something we will probably have come end of 21st century. That's all well and good until you realize that this game takes place in the 26th century. By then, I expect we won't need a suit because will will all exist on a higher level of existence, merged with machines as one conscience, capable of manifesting in whatever physical form we please and enacting our will as if like God's over the material world.

But so you know, the suit from Crysis is based on real advancements. The whole point of an exoskeleton is to mount thick, heavy armor and weaponry on it thanks to the improved capabilities whilst the soldier doesn't feel any of it.

Are you just saying that? It's funny because when your the artist you see all of your mistakes. I drew most of those during art class. I used to take one (about to sign back up after summer is over) with a teacher who is pretty renowned and had his stuff showcased in Paris and stuff. He's also a Jazz musician and he was in Vietnam.

I never finished any of those, though. I'd love to one day be able to make professional digital art using GIMP or photoshop for coloring and stuff with a Tablet, but it's much harder said than done. I have more pictures but I gotta upload them first.
