Full Version: Achievements system.
MechScape World > MechScape / Stellar Dawn > MechScape / Stellar Dawn Ideas & Rumours

Have you ever considered MechScape including an achievements system? Funorb games incorporate it, and Jagex has agreed it's been a huge success.

World of Warcraft has it, and it's immensely popular. It's basically like, you get points for completing achievements, and usually harder ones are worth more points. It could be as simple as, "reach level 10", or something super crazy difficult!
You can just use them for showing off/a leaderboards type thing, or do the funorb style and let you buy rewards.

Xbox 360 games include them too, for doing things like beating the game on the hardest difficulty, for example.

It seems like it's quite possible, considering Jagex know it's immensely popular, and adds a lot of life to games. Idk. Thoughts?

well, i don't know, i don't quite get how the whole Achievement thing works out.

One thing's for sure though is that Mechscape WONT have any levels according to Jagex.
Cyph3r
It is used in so many games, or game services or even non-games. It is(most of the time) very cool. So I hope they have it..

I'll quote the WoW website, for an example:

QUOTE (WoW)
# Player-vs.-Player: This includes arena, battlegrounds, and world player-vs.-player objectives. A few examples:

* Hot Streak: Win 10 ranked arena matches in a row.
* Alterac Valley All-Star: Capture graveyards, towers, and kill the enemy leader all in one game.
* City Defender: Kill 50 enemy players in your faction's capital cities.

@Cyph3r;

Indeed. Xbox 360, Playstation 3, WoW, Funorb. It's very popular these days.

I love achievments, that's probably the reason I liked FunOrb so much. So ya I would definetly be happy if they had them in MS.

Achievements are overused, and they add a touch of cliche to anything they touch.

I agree with this up to a point, achievements are a good addition to a lot of games if they are relatively difficult to achieve.

i dont like achievements. i think that the closest thing they should have to it is perhaps a minigame where you get points for doing stuff, like 1 pt a kill and such, and 4 kills a life=5 pts or something.
