It has 3 races, each with LOTS of classes to choose from, Massive instances, bosses, cool looking gear, fun quests, slight grinding and tons to do :)
Been playing for 3 days now and I'm level 20, I'm counted as a 'rich noob' lol, I'm a dark mage which is the asura race's mage class.

all races are human.

asura - darkness (rogues and dark mage etc classes(loads more)
deva - light (holy warrior(a tank), priest, cleric etc)
gaia - nature (fighter (your basic melee classic), and loads more)

you can also get empty creature cards and try to 'tame' creatures (capture them) they get put onto the card, you summon them and they level up with you :) each race has its own creature class, who provide strong buffs for pets.

Don't mind the graphics on the youtube video, as youtube's quality sucks. The graphics are really good and have a huge number of settings.

When you download the game, register an account, patch the game and login, go to lydian server, make your character and press Alt+f after the cutscene when you start playing. Then click add and type in: forgottenfaith

PS: The game is very very crappy and boring at the very start, but once you make friends, join a guild, level up, etc. the game is epic!

If you had to pay for rappelz, it would be worth it, BUT its free

What is rappelz about and what makes it special? I saw the vids and it's a shit load of icons to keep track of which makes me think it's yet ANOTHER mmo I won't actually play even if I download.

well, there are 6 epics so far, and the new epic is epic 6: navislamia, In the epic 6, everything is the same but the interface is a different colour and there are new areas to explore...hard to explain what its abot but I'll make a video about why you should play it.
what makes it special?...hmm....... Its fun in my point of view, I have tried a huge number of mmorpg's like: flyff, cabal, perfect world: international, guild wars, wow, runescape(still play runescape), lunia online, silk road online, eve online and everquest. But most of them i download, play and quit within the first day or two, rappelz is good. Silk road WAS better, but people made bots for it so all the servers are full, its hard to get on sk and if you get on, there is barely anyone to play with, only a HUGE number of bots.
And one of the most good things about rappelz is it takes skill, its not a button bashing game or a click and wait game, it takes skill as you need to upgrade your armor, and as it decreases in soul power you have to repair it with lak, which you get occasionally from killing monsters
(like a magic point).




Well you start off with barely any icons, only three of them (one for attacking and one for picking up items that are beside you instead of individually clicking on them and a sit button) By level 5 you gain about 4 icons, not that much and only 1 of them you use in combat. 1 is smite, which is like a special attack for melee, next there is summon creature which you use to summon your pet once you tame one, the next is return creature which unsummons your pet and the next is tame, which you can use to capture creatures (if you have a certain item in your inventory).
I have been playing for days on a mage which has the most icons at a low level and i have about 13, not that much because I know what they do.
I use one of them to start attacking from long range dealing high damage and as the monsters start hitting me I use the ones to the right on my skills list, which are random quick spells that do a small amount of damage.

Trust me, I spent about 4 days making new characters until I found the class I wanted because there are so many!

There Are 5 - 6 servers, and you can have 6 characters on each server, you can delete characters if its just a test character to see what class you want.


As I said before, I'll make a video on how you startout with races and leveling up and doing all kinds of things!
Its not complicated and its not simple, its fun and I think the max level is 150.

Gonna give this a try, and see how I like it.

My character names are: forgottenfaith and forgottenstrife, so add them both :p

MMK, I might try it. I played Silk Road for a bit but it lagged and no one ever talked (bots, maybe?)

If there are 150 levels, and lak and other stuff, then there must be lot's of grinding to get money, items, and level up to higher levels.

Rappelz was a game I was thinking of trying out myself... me being a Free MMO Gamer...

But at the time, I was already wrapped up in Perfect World International, and my PC didn't have enough space to download the game.

Ok, I can't decide on a class. I want to pwn monsters and people in PVP.

Has anybody tried it, Any good?

Yeah. And so far I am not impressed. I am stuck on the character creation screen, and no matter how many times I hit "create" button it doesn't do anything. I have sat there hitting it for the last 2 minutes straight non-stop and it's not doing anything at all.

Not to mention the complete lack of any variety or customization on characters. You get 6 hair options, which consist of three hair styles and TWO different colors for each=6 total. You get two clothing options, which for all but the Asura are just two different colors of the same exact uniform. You get 5 or 6 face options and a few skin tone options and that's it.

Quite sad, really. The graphics seem great but when you look closer up you can clearly see he textures. The abs, up close, look so 2D, like someone drew that entire area and it's shading on.

Frig man, the gameplay better make up for this.

And i just got disconnected from server as I was typing this, after all the effort trying to get into it.


This is why I don't trust Asian free MMO's. The korean companies can't make MMO's, especially the "free" ones based on the item-shop model. And the localizations are usually terrible. It's as if they hire a monkey to translate the text. Typo's, nonsensical sentences that are like a horrid sub trying to sound like an Asian would if they tried to speak English without knowing it's grammar too well.

Blade paul, you start off as a noob class and you have to change your class on one of the quests at trainee island (where you start) which lets you chose (based on your race)

For pvp, make an asura character and do noob quests until you can change to strider (which owns in pvp)
when a striders job level is 20 they can gain a skill allowing them to weild 2 one handed weapons at once.

The character customization does suck, but who cares about that? I don't stand looking at my character for hours on end, and the gear mostly covers it when your not a noob.

It's a typical Korean grinder which involves grind, and more grind. Not my sort of game :P
