They actually kept it in the soundtracks after it's replacement, but removed it for an unknown reason,as I remember.

Note: Pitch sounds different (if you have that good of a memory) because of sound file conversion apparently.

I remember playing RS2 for the first time after quitting classic for a short while and thinking "Wow, it has sound!"

My audio for runescape has never been turned on, so I don't quite remember this tune and I don't plan on listening to any runescape tunes, any time soon. iTunes is more than good for me.

What years was this soundtrack in? It sounds a bit familiar but some bits don't, I started in 2005.

They changed it 11th april 2005 when they added the quest about the golem.

I didn't manage to find the original version of the theme tune, but I did find this.

Contains portions of the current theme song, Yesteryear, Horizon and some others I can't remember.

In the music 'Norse Code' (playing while in Jatizso), the high pitch flute plays the Morse code letters for 'RuneScape'. The short notes are the dits and the long notes are the dahs: dit-dah-dit R, dit-dit-dah U, dah-dit N, dit E, dit-dit-dit S, dah-dit-dah-dit C, dit-dah A, dit-dah-dah-dit P, dit E.

"Newbie Melody" and the main theme used to be pretty close. Oh, wow...This reminds me of when I first joined, a few months before they closed RSC way back when...

I don't know what you are talking about, when I started playing runescape the music sucked sooooo bad that I just have always turned the volume off whenever I play runescape.... even sound fx's

RuneScape is so awesome before you become a high level and before you're just a little too familiar with all the locations.

RS is actually quite similar to how it used to be (although the people kind of suck now, and so do some of the updates). For the most part, it's you who has changed.

I said it when I started playing, and I will say it again (here and now). Sounds so much like Zelda. :P

Reminds me of the days when the only people I knew on Runescape was my cousin, this random kid from down the street, and this 50 year old creepy guy that wanted to quest with me all the time. I started in 04, but didn't really get into it until 06. I remember this quite well.
