Hello all,
Just browsing through the RS Forums today and found this thread.

I love Whrpker's response..."No...why would you ask that..? How did you even get this job..?" For all of you out there that don't know, Telegroup was introduced with Lunar spellbook back in 2006.

Well I never held runescape mods to high standards to begin with, so this doesn't shock or surprise me the least.

I'm speechless...

I've had PMod clan mates and friends, they aren't uber magical people. But it has been hilarious watching them let noobs think they are...The power abuse is (or atleast used to be during free trade) epic.

I don't think it's a big deal. The person is a forum mod and all their "job requirements" are just dealing with posts that break the rules. If they were a player mod, it would be different.

I'm just surprised at how horrible their grammar is for a forum mod...
Though that reminds me of how I used to tease forum mods in game for not using periods, it's fun.

He could have been a good choice for a P Mod, but maybe posted a few good post, and so then he was asked to be a F Mod. (could be why the low post count)
Also maybe he is an older member, not tooo long ago, you could get grouped tele like nothing.
Or maybe he never got to that far, because he was taking his time.

sad.......... I've seen other forum mods just as bad, and player mods too, scammers/hackers, account sharers/traders, jagex doesnt check up on them too much after modship.

I've personally been a Player Moderator from level 13 on Runescape. I've had level 3 Player Moderator friends who were obviously skillers, because it takes 2 Months minimum to become a Player Moderator, if you have the right friends...That's how I got mine. *shh*

I dont like most p-mods becuase the don't help people and just ignore you. (the ones ive met)
Just because he doesn't know something about the game doesn't mean he shouldn't be a mod. Mods are there to help Jagex enforce the rules and help Jagex find the rule breakers.

Clearly that player has had a few recommendations... The question also has to be asked as to why he didn't ask this question in the forum mod centre.
I don't see it as a big thing, it is a tad strange, but I've seen worse. I once had a player moderator follow me around for five minutes, begging to buy my mask (was quite a few years ago now). I remember I was smelting in Falador, and I went upstairs and he even followed me upstairs. Lets face it, there are a few moderators that clearly don't know what they are doing- thankfully that is not the majority.

Seeing as the majority of players on the game are twelve, I'm surprised that some people are even a little surprised. The chances of an idiot becoming a mod are larger than the chances of a mother going to Wal-Mart.
Also, this mod isn't even an idiot. They just aren't a haven't been playing RuneScape for very long...

Heh, I actually know this guy from another forum, he makes RS fakes. He has been playing for about five years I think... He got to be a Mod when he was like 11
He's not a stupid guy at all though, he's really quite clever but he just doesn't know about Lunar magic I guess
You don't have to know everything about RS to be a Forum Mod

I had screenshots of Mods asking for free stuff in lumb, mods flaming another player and even a funny one saying "I'm off to Pk RC'ers" (Which wasn't against the rules, just considered very low.)
I really don't know how they get some of these people. When I was a mod, none of them were that silly...

I know Pokemaniac 6 from in-game. He actually has a high level of grammar, but probably doesn't know what he is talking about when it comes to Lunar Magic. The couple of P-mods I have met are really quite nice, with only a few exceptions.

How is that low? Do you even know what that term means?
Being low is like stealing cash from your mum's purse to buy drugs, or tripping up an old lady and not apologizing.
It isn't low... he's just not in the know. If you were drunk you wouldn't even know what button to press to turn the computer on, let alone type a question with the correct grammar and spelling

Wow, I've seen Poke around Sal's, and I didn't think he was all that silly - I wonder why he didn't just ask there. (Or check the site)

I thought you had to cyber your way to this "Prestigious" position. Ok just kidding, it's only "Runescape prestigious". Everytime I see one of those damn player moderators in game they're just cybering (Sometimes you can see them doing the net nasty with other player mods!) or flaunting their stuff infront of drooling low levels and acting like they're more coolz because they're a pmod. Fmods, what can I say, they're just idiots that act like they know crap and close exciting threads.

I used to know lots of smart, old P-Mods, some back from when they got introduced. Also, I haven't played very actively for 2 years, since the RWT update (I haven't seen any of the 197 veterans I was close friends with, either), know nothing about new content, yet am still smart enough to get around.
I wonder why I'm so bitter about the RWT update. Maybe because I was the guy to see in game for a price check?

A few months ago, me and a few others were bumping the Bandos Agility course thread after the course had been nerfed, so we kept bumping it in hope for a better explanation and to offer suggestions to Jagex (It took a month for Jagex to finally reply in it). Anyway, this guy comes in the thread, flaming us all and being really idiotic, supporting Jagex for the nerf and saying the thread should be locked etc. We wern't spamming, just wanting a better explanation than the one Jagex gave for nerfing it. Just a few days ago, I saw this exact person on the forums again, only this time he had a green background and a green crown next to his name. Such is life....

I met one of the mods who does pick them. his name is mod calm. He is a regular person who just got the job. A lot of the time when ppl become mods they tend to think the rules don't apply to them. Some are good and some arent. But mod calm, He is just as human as i am..........(whistles nonchalontly)

I don't see the big problem about this.
FMod's are there to keep the forums clean and freindly, Not to answer every users questions.
I'm sure he has been a good forum user and therefore has been asked to become a mod.
Same with PMod's. As long as you are helpfull, kind and follow the rules you will get a chance. They don't pick mods because they use to run a Runescape fan site and know everything..

Like I said, they don`t have to know loads about the game.

No, I know Poke from SRF's. He knows nobody at Jagex. And his speeling and grammar aren;t bad, to anybody who says it is. He actually writes in lots of detail and puts full stops after everything he says in RS. And I see no mistakes in that post.

This is kind of a disappointment to me, and don't everyone flame me but I've secretly been trying to become a mod for like 2 years now :/ and yes I know it's pathetic but I don't really have the time to spend on runescape to skill all day and I know quite a bit about the game so I figure if I'm going to work at something why not go for that.
