Full Version: Jagex reads your appeals...
MechScape World > Jagex > RuneScape Media

This is actually one of my accounts, not something I found. Yeah, I laughed. Be sure to actually read the appeal.

You sure they didn't read it?
Just because you insult them doesn't mean much, I am sure they get insulted all the time.

wow, that is a true ROFL

Um, is saying zybez against the rules? and if it is what is/was the punishment?

MadMech13
Just cause you insult them, doesn't mean they're going to insult you back.

You can say the name of fan sites that are under Jagex's "recognized" sites.

I had a couple black marks on my throw-away account, so I found a joke website and went through and copy/pasted 1 joke in to each appeal. I guess who ever reviewed my account thought some of the jokes were funny so they removed them.

I also learned saying, "Jagex added cheat codes to RS press ctrl and w at the same time to unlock them!" isn't against the rules... Some noob reported me for item scamming on that one, but it's not a scam, just a lie, so no rules broken.

My appeal on a level 3 I got black marks for fun on was "wtf" and it was accepted.

Funny, but things like this have been discussed/posted alot before.

My friend got a blackmark for telling the noob to fuck off and not steal his rockcrab spot.
his appeal was: "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog"
accepted.

Zybez got removed from their list of recognized fansites. (Source) (Source2)

So technically it's against the rules.
Stan
Are you dumb? They did read, and they find out its wrong, so they change it. You only write something to show extra evidence, FFS.

Somehow I'm not suprised at Jagex's underhanded approach to eliminating competition, it's probably the same reason runescape.wikia (which is a valuable resource) isn't recognised (Evony ads on almost every page).

I thought it was because they still don't like people using Swiftkit, even though they now stated the latest version is legal.
Garanaw
Jagex have said that they do read the appeals, but that they go through the evidence and if they find you innocent, then they don't care if your appeal is stupid. People should know that by now.
Ren
I've actually spoken to people who deal with appeals, and if they didn't read them they'd be out of the job. They get regular 'sampling' quality control checks to ensure they make the right decision and I do recall one employee who lost his job at Jagex because he didn't meet their standards. It is also the case that, as Garanaw said, they look at the evidence and not just your appeal message, and if they think you didn't break the rules they will act accordingly even if you don't help your case by giving a good appeal. That isn't to say they always get it right and that the system shouldn't be improved. For example it'd be nice if every decision went to two JMods and if they don't agree it goes to a more senior one and they get informed of what the correct outcome should of been.
Stellar
I've seen plenty of appeals like this. Some people have gone as far as rick rolling and still getting the BM removed.

When I first got the offense, it was 10 black marks. I had another offense where I said "youtube" and I got another 10 black marks, and a few minor offensive languages. Overall, I ended up with 30 black marks and a permanent mute with a week ban. When they updated the offense system I went down to 4 black marks, and now I'm down to 0.

Yea, I just mainly see Jagex's non emotional response that is down to the point. Saying Zybez isn't really against the rules although they just put it back on the censor so... yea...

Also realize that those who do this all day probably get really tired and do a few mistakes here and there.

Lastly, it could be that another person looked at it and decided it from the evidence before really looking at what you said.
Lord John
Well I'm sure some fail bot reads them :P
Shadow of Sofia
I sent in 6 appeals saying supercalifragilisticexpalidocus, and 3 got denied, 3 were successful??
Kardif
I think that appeal was completely justified.

At least find solace in that the people reviewing your account enjoy humor, and think of some of the random stuff that they must get sent in as appeals.
