-This is meant to be from the point of view of somebody playing MechScape.-

PART 1

I go about my daily ritual of checking the site, MechScape.com, for any updates, yet I know I will always get their forged 404 page. I type it in, and I see a much more decorated page then before. A logo, with the words, Stellar Dawn. Under that logo was the words, "156 users currently online." Under those words were, We are currently redirecting you to Stellar Dawn. If you do not wish to wait, or the page does not redirect in 5 seconds, click here.". It seemed like an involuntary movement as my hand jumped to my mouse, and the cursor jumped to the word "here". The page loaded, and the site looked unfamiliar to RuneScape.

The news articles took the width of the page, with Website Features, and other links, at the bottom. The Stellar Dawn logo, and now the 294 people playing text, took the top of the screen. Under those words and above the blank news articles were three buttons. The first two, a haze of grey over them, read, "Click here to create a Stellar Dawn account" and "Free Users, click here to login". To the right, however, was a light cyan blue box with the words, "RuneScape and FunOrb subscribers, click here to play on a Beta Server". I clicked on it, and the next page loaded, taking some time to do so.

A polished, light blue loading bar, similar to that of RuneScape, started loading. When it completed, a screen popped up. Just like on the front page, the first two buttons were out, the ones to create an account and for Free Users to play. Under it was for RS/FO Subscribers, Server choice, Graphics and Audio options. Under that was some small words reading, "789+ people playing!".

I clicked on Server Choice and saw servers RS 1 Beta (525), RS 2 Beta (136), FO 1 Beta (182), and FO 2 (125 Beta). The rest of the servers, Server 1, 2, 3, all the way to 200, was grayed out. I clicked on RS 1 Beta, and logged in with my RuneScape account and password.

I had the choice to choose between "2 of 4 species", being Human and Pliigi. I chose Human, and it looked rather like the one on RuneScape, but with more detail and options.

After I finished this, it went to a cutscene, showing some commanding officer or something enter a room that stayed true to the promise of more polygons. It seemed to be a presidential office, a long hallway showing pictures of past presidents, ending at a polished, wooden desk, a man in a high quality suit and tie sitting on the large, leather chair, typing on a large computer screen. The large windows showed a landscape darkened by storm clouds. The rain as thick as the clouds. It could have been the brightest time of the day, and there would be no proof of that.

The man who entered the room continued to walk to the president, the camera spinning to show what he held behind his back, a metallic stick. On the bottom was a grip, with a shiny, glass button. The metallic barrel at the end appeared to be removable.

He stood 3 yards from the front of the desk, smiling. The president pressed a button on the top of his screen, and it instantly went into his desk.

"General Maupe? What is it?" Asked the man appearing to be the president. The same words came as subtitles on the bottom. The strange man continued smiling, and in a flash, he pulled the odd item from his back, and shot a high intensity laser to the president.

PART 2
The President dodges the laser, and it hits the glass. The laser flow stops, and a loud, high pitched whirring starts, and ends half a second later. An explosion of glass specks flew in all directions, coating the area with a shiny dust. The president ran to the end of the hall, but the door was locked. The man with the laser was walking towards the President, shooting the desk, paintings, the carpet, everything that wouldn't compromise the integrity of the building. The President pulled out his pistol and shot the fire extinguisher mere feet ahead of General Maupe. The president opened a nearby, difficult to see door, and ran inside just before the foam filled the room.

The president flicked on a light, and was inside a rather elegant janitors closet. He pulled out a Walkie Talkie and informed the police of what had happened.

-The Next Day-

My character (We'll call him Faybro) was sitting on a bus, absentmindedly viewing the news on his PDA. Suddenly, -

"We interrupt this story to bring you a breaking announcement.

General Maupe, the commander of the planets defense system, attempted to take Brent Kembardi's life, by using a highly experimental weapon. It shoots a high intensity laser that causes a very short and fast series of vibrations, fast enough to break reinforced plate glass 3 feet thick. The 2 foot thick tempered glass behind it was not harmed, nor was the inch of soda-lime glass.

The President escaped by blowing up a fire extinguisher, and jumping into a broom closet. Folks, remember, this extinguisher is one of the much larger ones, carrying much more foam. Another thing to remember is that the contents of the foam is essentially the opposite of oxygen.

Not much more is known, except that General Maupe has somehow escaped.

The cutscene ended. I now saw the full interface.

The minimap had a button much like the world map icon on RuneScape, yet it was split in two, seeming to be one for the planet I am on, and one for the galaxy. The logout button was in the same area, and there was a Health and an Electricity bar.

The chat looked like that of RuneScapes, but there was no Trade function.

The tabs on the right were all blank, all except for a large M. I clicked on it, and something similar to the Quest List on RS came up, however, they were "Missions". The first one was simply Tutorial, and it was the only one that was Yellow out of the rest of them being red.

Not bad, but allow me to add a prequel based on a true story. AHem....

I waited and waited after news of soon and soonish for Mechscape. It had been months with no information on the game to go by. To this day I still wait.... And then I went to the Runescape site and saw nothing again, gave up and died. I came back as a ghost to haunt Jagex with posts about how their game was'nt out.

Don't worry, I get resurrected later.
