urantis

Actually thanks for posting that, I need some new head phones biggrin.gif
Darth Irule
Thoses look like nice head phones.... Wheres the video?
urantis

Darth Irule
That game looks realy cool. I cant beleve it has a half million weapons!
Insanitosis
Yeah I know, thats so much.
Games are one of the few things that work well when developers make things that do the work for them :D
Gandaf007
Don't they have a new art style for it now?
Insanitosis
Yeah, they made it more of a comic book style art, but the amount of detail and quality is still high. People are trashing the cartoony look, but I really like it.
Edd
I loved fallout, this could be sweet.

Yeah, I didn't like how people were trashing it, I like it a lot more than their old art style. This one seems more detailed, and more defined.

This game looks quite promising, to be honest. Any idea on what platforms it's going to be released on?

alphawolf700
If I don't have a 360 by then I'm definetely getting it for PC. I've been watin for a game like this for so long it's like a dream come true.....
MC
I don't think I personally care for the new art style in this game.
Drachen
This game looks good. I'll have to try it when it comes out.

You can't turn down 1million+ guns...

And 4 person co-op ;D.
Even if you hate the graphics, you can't say the gameplay doesn't look great.

Definitely.
I actually think the graphics are alright. kind of undecided though. Most games try too hard to do the "real as possible" graphics so the current "cartoon" type would be a slight breath of fresh air.

Don't quote me on the "most games" part though... I don't keep up much with shooters. This one just happened to catch my eye :p
Bladepaul
Correct me if I'm wrong, but they have a complex weapon-generator that generates them on the fly. That's amazing. That means there is no limit to the amount of guns you can have.

That type of technology needs to be put into every game. Or at least something like it so we can see variations on various models such as in real life, where there are a lot of versions of weapons with different features and the like.

Seriously, 500k+ weapons. FFS, I can't even imagine using all of them.
Insanitosis
I'm sure they have a limit on how similar the guns are too. They probably set the generator program to have a cut-off when 2 guns share everything except maybe a folding stock or fixed stock.

Maybe, but I don't know about that. Because a folding stock and fixed stock can give differences in performance or some other such thing, so if they have two guns that are the same but have a difference in stock, then it makes sense and is believable. Because then not everyone is using the same exact gun. You can see that one thug may have a fixed stock on his gun, another may have a scope. The gun model doesn't change, just the "furniture". And in that case, I would rather it didn't cut it off but let it spawn, so long as both guns were essentially identical save for maybe a slight difference in one statistic because of the difference in stock or scope or barrel.

That would be quite awesome actually.
Darth Irule
Im bring this topic back, game is going to be released soon.

I just pre ordered it!
Insanitosis
Scratch november lol, coming out in 5 days!

New graphics look polished, gameplay looks sick, and the overall style looks perfect.
Darth Irule
There is a lot of gameplay out on youtube now. Go and search, just remember, they are spoilers.
Crash Jordan
This looks mad.
Gandaf007
I'll be getting this game, hopefully in 2 or 3 months. I dig the art style a lot, almost too awesome for my eyes.

Here's two videos I find amusing: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/borderla...=videos;title;5 and http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/borderla...=videos;title;4

Need to get this game :p

I've always loved the idea of using generation for aspects of games. I love that they did this for weapons and it will surely make the game a lot more entertaining because you wouldn't really ever find the same weapon again.

I'm really considering getting this game but my computer lacks the cpu requirement of course.
Herculite
i think ill be getting this game as soon as its out, how to check my cash flows. Being a uni student now but hey it looks to good to wait for, been following this game for a while now cant wait =]

That best not be sarcasm sonny boy.

I know most fps's are very generic, but this is the first in a while to incorporate more than one completely new thing.
MadMech13
Looks like a pretty good game.

It not be sarcasm, sorry.

In Claptrap episode 1, it says it generates creatures the same way.

Now all they need is it to generate the map that way... virtually unlimited distance and locations on the map... there is an mmo in production like that. I would be entertained for years and years like RuneScape. :D
Darth Irule
I bought Midnight Club LA just to keep me busy while I wait for the game to come out lol.
Gandaf007
Very interesting...

At least it's not as stupid as Dragon Age: Origins day 1 DLC.

EDIT: Max, I think the levels are generated randomly, but not on the scale you'd like.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borderlands_(video_game)

QUOTE
As for the game world, Borderlands features a system that randomly instances the surrounding landscape, with randomly placed things such as bunkers, towers, caves, enemies, and exploding cacti. All of this is done without a loading screen. Gearbox claims that the player will not see a loading screen after they boot up the game. Core areas, such as towns, will remain the same throughout the game, however, as will the general paths that connect town to town

Still pretty awesome.
Darth Irule
These youtube account have a lot of videos for Borderlands.

SPOILER ALERT: only go to the youtube channels if you want to see some of the missions and game play from the game.

I watched some of the videos on the missions and that. The gameplay it pretty good but it looks like it will get old quick if it doesn't change from the start of the game. Feels like you have to hang back at some parts unless the guy I was watching was really bad.
Darth Irule
I got the game today!

It is fun so far.

If you were watching darksydephil, then yes, he is really bad.

From what I've heard, the first part gets old, but once you get further into the main quest(search for the vault), freaky stuff starts happening(like good freaky).

Gotta go over darth's and try it out :D

Call me after you get home.

I am all ready level 14.

Here is a tip: All ways play online! Always do co op online with other players. It is a lot more fun and easier! I just did a quest thing that I would not have been able to do by my self for a long time.
Drachen
Anyone played it a lot so far and have a better opinion on how good it is?

I say that it is really good. Not quite as good as fallout 3 or left 4 dead. The role playing aspect is more like final fantasy style, with clearly defined missions and a straightforward "storyline", and the gameplay is really good.

I want to get it for pc

NOTE: Don't bother playing as a guest on someone else's xbox, I did and my max damage was 2 when I was level 13.
Darth Irule
I beat the game today. The ending sucked. Still a great game tho.
