This is old news, but is anybody looking forward to this book? I am.

And Another Thing… is the title of the upcoming sixth installment of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "trilogy". The book will be written by Eoin Colfer, author of the Artemis Fowl series, and is due to be published on 12 October 2009 (the 30th anniversary of the first book) in hardback by Penguin Books in the UK, and by Hyperion Books in the US. Colfer was given permission to write the book by Adams' widow Jane Belson.

I've read a few Eoin Colfer books. Definitely an entertaining author, but I have a feeling he's going to make the new book much more childish than the original trilogy.
I'll probably read it anyways, though.

You will never get anything like the original when there is another author involved. This applies to anything. You get their interpretation... if only Douglas Adams were still alive! He was one hoopy frood.
As others above me have said, this may be a good read, but probably not the same. It will (hopefully, anyway) have a Douglass Adams feel to it, but unless Adams comes from the grave to write a new book, it won't be the same. I suppose of Colfer really concentrates on keeping it similar, it could be very close, but who knows.
I personally admit I never read the whole HGttG series; I read half of the first book, loved it, put it down, and never picked it up again. Thus began my reading dry spell.

Eoin Colfers series about Artemis Fowl are entertaining in my opinion. I'm sure this book will be great.
