Don't get your hopes up yet, there's still a chance it won't happend.

Why does he sound a little unsure if there will be beta. That's what it sounds like, when he says "if it takes place." On another note, good for the Fun Orb members that wanted to play the beta.

Because Mod Korpz is the head of funOrb, he works at funOrb dungeon eating Custard below Jagex Castle, he have no idea what the plans are for the other Jagex projects.

I think he would still know about there being a beta or not. Maybe I'm just putting too much thought into it, oh well.

I'd imagine it's more likely that he's saying that purely because he himself doesn't know, being on the FunOrb side of Jagex, as opposed to the possibility of there not being a MechScape beta. Mod MMG has confirmed it numerous times now, it'd be most odd for them to suddenly decide not to release one.

Anywho, I guess this is good news to any FO members or MSW members looking for cheap(er) access to the MechScape beta.

Define old players? And I think they should count by months you have paid for p2p, or how long you have plaid f2p. Just because you haven't payed for RuneScape doesn't make you unloyal.

Less strict, the better in my opinion. This makes it so that people don't feel that they were cheated out of the beta because Jagex said loyal and everyone's definition is different when it comes to that. Some still consider f2p player easly being loyal and I do to as I was one of them for a while. Paying a subscription for participation in the beta is fair though.

I mean players that have been playing for like 3+ years. And im confused, people are saying you have be p2p to be in beta while others are saying you have to be a loyal member.

Well I'm planning to get p2p when the Beta comes out solely to play MS so this is good news :)

This is probably nit picking, but could be an important detail.

The quote mentions loyal subcribers will have acsess to a free to play version of Beta. I may have understood this the wrong way, but it comes across to me as people who have a paid up membership of one Jagex product or another (Loyal subscriber) gaining the opportunity to test the Beta for free.

Like others have said tho, I guess it comes down to how you view these things, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's the way it pans out in the end.

As we have discussed this issue about "Loyal subscribers", we think it's membership for a couple of months.

Yeah, that's the point. If we already pay, we shouldn't have to pay to beta test something. Although you make me think of another point: what if it's only free to play if you have another jagex service registered, and for extra stuff, you buy mems in mechscape? Like you need to be a member of FO or RS to even play MS :S

I hope Mechscape releases soon the BETA.

Jagex would lose money if F0 members get to try the beta too. I'm not saying for FO membs not to get the beta but once some runescape members find out about this. They'll either keep their rs mem and add fo membership or they just cancel their rs membership and switch to fo.

jagex would be losing 2 bucks for every player that switches to fo membs...ehh

Jagex would gain money if people added on FO to their RS subscription. And I doubt that the few people that are only buying RS membership for beta would make even a slight difference if they switched to FO.

I know that some people are subscribing to RuneScape just to be able to play the beta; this would be a cheaper way to do that.

I have a scenario.

What if you've been a member on RuneScape for like, let's say 3-2 and a half years.
You're membership runs out while your internet is down and about 3 days after it ran out, you get internet again and you get membership again also.
Do you think they will look at the time you played before hand? Or just at the time you started after you started your membership again?..

That's what we're hoping

It would be a real bummer if it didn't accept you, but you could always message Jagex about that when the BETA gets released.

That is my case, i was a member from 2004 till 2008, now ive just started again for the summer holidays, ive only been mem for 2 weeks now.
But i woudn't be mad if it did happen, i mean, yes i would be a little fustrated but at the end of the day its only a beta soo ill just come here and see MSW review it and see your ideas about it.
