I'm sure there will be parts that look like that, more then likely the different race/planet will allow for different terrain.

They've done some awesome things with runescape, so I'm sure while it might not be as fancy as that picture it will at least be somewhere in between that picture and how runescape looks right now.

Well switch "using Java" to "made by Jagex," and "fancy PS3 engine" to "Blizzard-esque company," and you got yourself a new answer.

Java is quite capable of a lot more than people think it is. So I suggest you learn something about what you think you know.

In defense to Jagex you have to take into consideration that you are not comparing any MMO that is recently released by Jagex. If they were to apply detail like that to RuneScape it would take more aways from the game the contribute. Jagex said this themselves. So essentially the other reason is that setting the level for requirements to an equivalent or better for Jagex's next MMO is suicidal for the game itself. The whole concept of RuneScape and Jagex is that the game can be played on almost any damn computer you well please that has Java. The sucess of Jagex is dependant on a very wide audience, remember that. That includes the computer people use.

D: I HATE Warhawk. When I think of shooter games I think of Call of Duty or Halo. Warhawk just bugs me because people just get in vehicles and atom bomb me :\.

But yeah, Jagex proves that graphics are not every thing. The worse your graphics are, the more grinding you should have.

I don't know if I want the game to look like that because that would cause too much lag on a slower comp, limiting us poor ppl that can't afford expensive computers(i'm running on a $300 emachine lol). Though it'd be nice if I had a nice comp anyways im sure the graphics will be nicer than RuneScape's because they are using OpenGL aswell.

I myself have Warhawk. It's an okay game but as time passes it becomes 'just another shooter'.

However, if the graphics do resemble those running in your browser at the predicted low specs then Jagex must be Hacking...

With the combination of Java Particle Effects and Open GL this game is going to look immense. For an idea of what Open GL can do look at the game Crysis. You will be shocked.
