Chapter VII-Second Encounter-

“This is Greased Shell, target spotted, we are now approaching it with Lunar Squadron.” Major Chilpad announced.

Our ten fighters followed and surrounded the large transport ship. Chilpad and I pulled our fighters to the front of the transport, and looked toward the cockpit. It was impossible to see inside for some reason. However, the ship was forced to follow our wanted flight path.

“Special Forces now near target ship,” December said.

The aircraft carrying the foot soldiers flew above the transport ship and got near it. Several men armed with machine guns jumped off and landed on top of the large transport ship. They were armed with machine guns, pistols, flash grenades and heat knives. Both of their shoulder pads were metallic and were studded. They had universal trench coats, body armor, gravitational boots, and gauntlets, which were all fitted for planetary and space operations. They also had full space helmets with large visors. A trooper grabbed his heat blade and cut open a hole on the top of the ship.

“This is Sergeant Lowell, we’re going in.” the Special Forces trooper announced. One by one the troopers jumped into the hole. When they all had entered, the commanding officer sealed the hole.
“Alright, begin clearing of all rooms and corridors. This is a large ship. Be fast and quiet.”

Our crafts hovered by the large transport, no hostiles were in our sights, not a single new command or order was called. We just waited there, listening to the Special Force’s radio transmitions.

“This room is empty; check that corridor over there Saniq.”

“I’ve found s-some luggage and blood s-stains, but nothing els-se.”

Grant suddenly spoke out, “This is Lunar 2, guys I see some brown and green vessels headed our way. Should we engage?”

December looked onto the radar; there was nothing there for a few moments. But then, four unknown blips appeared and approached. December then spoke out just as I was about to respond as well, “Roger, we see them now.”

Colonel Kirkland spoke out, “Lunar, Swordfish, do not engage them unless fired upon.”

“Thomas, get down!” Sergeant Lowell said. Firing of their guns was heard.

“Hey, what’s going on down there?” A man from Swordfish asked in reaction.

More gunfire was heard on the radio, as a Special Forces trooper spoke out, “We’ve made contact; they are armed with what seems to be plasma guns.”

“What are those-se things-s?!”

Gunfire ceased as Lowell spoke out, “Not anything I know of, but those glowing eyes may help us spot them.”

I looked towards the radar; the radar blips were much closer now. My cockpit began to flash warning red; a projectile appeared on my radar and flew rapidly towards my fighter. I pushed my fighter into a dive and avoided the projectile. I glanced back and spotted a red projectile. I pulled back up and spotted Chilpad also dodging a similar object.

“Everybody, Engage!” Chilpad ordered.

I turned the fighter and flew away from the large transport.

“Incan, engaging,” a man from Swordfish said.

“Horus, engaging,” another man from Swordfish responded.

“Fenrir, attacking hostiles,” Swordfish 4 spoke out.

“Satire, engaging,” a woman from Swordfish said.

My squadron engaged as well. We outnumbered the Pliigan vessels, but it still felt like we weren’t on the easy hook. A red projectile flew towards me again, and I attempted to dodge.

“Watch out for their projectiles, they can devour your missiles and energy, then use it right back at you.” December warned Swordfish squadron.

“They know, don’t worry android girl.” Grant said.

We broke forward and accelerated with the blob still trailing behind us. A Pliigan vessel followed us, and fired green substances. I pulled up and did a barrel roll, tightly being pursued by the hostile.

“He’s hurt, I’ve got him!” a trooper shouted.

“Watch out, his buddies don’t seem so happy,” another trooper exclaimed. Gunfire was heard throughout the radio.

I pushed down and sent the fighter into a cartwheel. The Pliigan fighter passed us, and I quickly fired my machine guns as I followed him. Bullets sprayed the white and tan bones of the biological craft. The vessel began to literally bleed and dive into the sparkling ocean. I fired on it again, and pieces of flesh were ripped out from the hostile fighter and it lost complete control. The red projectile that was following us began to dive down as well. It broke into smaller red globs and fell into the ocean along with the fighter that used it.

“Splashed one,” December exclaimed.

I looked back towards the transport ship, several red projectiles chased around the other fighters. Chilpad’s one seated Karomaz beautifully surfed through the air as he dodged the acidic weapons being sprayed on him. A red projectile soon followed him, as another Pliigan fighter flew straight toward him head on. He fired a missile and struck the bionic ship, and he quickly turned away. In that half a second, the severely damaged Pliigan fighter bled and chucks of flesh dropped to the surface. Then, the red projectile following Chilpad collided with the fighter, and sent the fighter into an ocean dive. It tried to pull up, but to no use, and broke apart upon hitting the water.

“Tis’ Greased Shell, I’ve got one as well,” Chilpad said.

Our fighter flew around the government transport ship, and spotted a missile flying towards a hostile ship, but was swiftly dodged.
Grant shouted, “Arg! Dog fighting really sucks! Come on, hit already!”
His fighter followed the enemy Pliigan fighter, and shot off plasma guns, but the plasma simply wasn’t effective. I looked on the transmition screen, and saw that he was becoming very irritated and impatient.

“Forest, calm down a little,” I said.

I looked on the screen and he did a slight nod and then relaxed a little. His fighter shot another missile, and struck the vessel. The bleeding ship struggled to stay in the air, but failed and then crashed into the water.

“Alright, my first kill!”

Gunfire broke out on the radio as a trooper in the transport spoke out, “I’ve spotted three hostages, be careful where you shoot!”

“Haiser, go around there and take that one out!”

Daniel and Diana were very focused, and together, followed an enemy vessel. Their two fighters swiveled in the sky like snakes, and fired missiles.

“Fox 2!” they both exclaimed.

The enemy fighter pulled away and dodged Daniel’s missile, however, took a direct hit from Diana’s. The vessel, which was climbing, took a halt, and fell to its doom.

“Take that!” Diana cheered.

A trooper in the transport spoke out, “I’ve recovered the governor, and he seems to be in good shape, search for the rest of the enemy.”

Some members on the Swordfish squadron looked a little irritated but relieved on their transmition screens. Fenrir spoke out.
“Hey, Lunar squadron, leave some for us!”
Chilpad laughed out heartily, as some members from Swordfish chased down the final enemy vessel.

“Fox 2! Fox 2!” a Swordfish member shouted as her fighter shot out a missile. A boom was heard and the target vessel dropped out of the skies. “This is Satire, confirmed kill.”

Some blue substances suddenly flew out of the government transport ship; it seemed to be some plasma. It then halted and the troopers spoke on the radio. “Whew, alright, I think that was all of them, lets get this ship back to base.”

Horus spoke out, “Swordfish 3 here, what exactly happened there?”

The Saurian trooper explained, “This is S-Saniq here… Well, seems-s that the enemy creature wouldn’t give its-self up, and cons-stantly fired concentrated plas-sma towards us. Thomas-s shot him real good.” He then chuckled.

I then asked, “What creatures were you fighting?”

Sergeant Lowell replied, “No idea, they weren’t Pliigi however, these creature had a completely different body structure. Worse, we can’t identify them; they would somehow dissolve as soon as we killed them… horrid way to go if you ask me. Whoever is in charge of these events really don’t want us to know who they are. ”

I thought to myself… what the hell is going on?

Chilpad broke the quick silence.
“Alright, let’s head back to base.” He said.

The large transport ship changed its course in the direction of the Neres Air Base, and our fighters escorted it the whole way.
