The Chronicles of a Classic Aximili E I

Intro:
My RS2/RSC name is Aximili E I. I've been playing Runescape since OCT '05 right around the Halloween event. I've been a member since pretty much the first few days. I'm currently in my low 70's combat lvl and I'm a skiller by trade. Shorty after joining RS membership I made a RSC account. I got lucky the cut off date came around that same time and I have bragging rights to a RSC account and could use it too. So from then until NOV of 2008 and I didn't do much more then log in, log out. As most people can't play RSC I decided to blog about my adventures. You have something unique here:the only known(and legit) RSC blog. In this blog I'll try and blend actual play time(blog days) with humorous comics and insights into the RSC community as well as interesting tidbits. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I got out of writing it.

What I did today:
Today was a short day, not by design but by accident, lol. Today there was going to be some sort of gathering going on(there was a post on it on RSC RSOF) Someone told me about it...If memory serves me right it was Cremeans0. (that's the disadvantage to writing this 2 months after the fact ) While I was waiting for it Pker For Mat(no idea who he was) ask to buy my spare black armor. I made a killing selling him my spare Black items so my Gp has recovered from my research from day 21. You can see that in this picture.
Afterwards I got back some of my armor that I sold.

Soon after that the "Gathering" started... it was in Varrock and the guy running it was James 2nd, I believe, (said he was going to vid it for Youtube... never did find the vid afterwords) He had us form a train down through Lumby and on to Al Karid...to kill the palace guards. Here's where I had some troubles.... somehow I got a defense lvl and did know even though I didn't attack anyone... so I have no pic of that event ... anyway I didn't stay I wasn't interested or really had the level to justify attacking the guards so I went to Fally.

There I decided to work on my defense a bit killing men and imps(got to get working on getting beads for the Imp Catcher Quest.) I mangled to get a white and red bead and 3 defense lvls.
I also made attack potions with the guam that I had gotten as drops and gained 1 herblaw lvl.


And here ends Day 22....

yeah I was shocked that he offered me that much and sad the thing was if I had more black armor I would have gotten more I wish for the pre-ge, pre-trade-limit days again... man those where the days lol

What I did today:
Today was a short day, for 2 reasons: one which I'll show you after the rants for the day section the other is the rant which I'll post on in a special post in a few days....
Anyway lets get started.

Today I went to Fally (I started in Lumby) to get my range up and to get the remaining beads for Imp Catcher(yellow and black). I stopped at the bank in Draynor on the way and got the bow and arrows I needed. Once in Fally I went in the area southwest of the white knights castle switching from one side of the moat to the other while killing imps. One thing I do what to point out and I've never really understood this... Once a monster gets in melee range your character will stop using range an switch to melee(I wielded a mith 2 handed for that part). One thing about imps is that they retreat however unlike in RS2 where they teleport away in RSC they just run away. In getting the two beads I needed I got 1 hit point lvl, 1 range lvl, and 1 combat lvl.

Okay for the first reason to day was short:

I want you guys here to get familiar with the comic strip RuneClassic Heads and it's easier if I just repost the strips here from start to finish all at once.(only about 12 of them so far) Normally I post comic strips as part of short days or when there might be a long period between blog days. Some of the strips are inspired on what I have done in RSC or what someone else has done. Lets see if you can find what is inspired by experiences or is fictional through and through

Dear Blog Readers,

Hello, I want to talk about something that I feel that is important to express in a special post. Those that have read Day23 know that I had a rant that I wanted to make a special post on.... This is that post.

Vaskor from Runescape Readers Digest(it's another blog)) has called me a historian on at least one occasion and I'm sure there are some who would agree. I have however a self title as well: The RSC NOOB. Day 23 was the Day, that for me, was extremely embarrassing in account to being a historian but within the norm of being a RSC NOOB. However just because I can be a total noob when it comes to RSC what I'm about to share with you has troubled me.

I was in Fally during Day 23 near the wall next the to west bank when I noticed something odd: handrails...When I noticed this a cold chill went up my back after making this discovery. So I went around to see if the handrails were just decoration or what I feared the most: agility shortcut.

Now why may you ask would I be afraid of discovering that there is agility shortcuts? Well it goes back to the word "historian" This blog is more the just "what I did" type of blog. This blog has those type of blog entries (i.e.Blog days) but it also has informative (i.e. fact sheets) and humorous (i.e.RuneClassic heads) entries. Being that it's informative I don't want to spread misinformation. If it's a grey area I make sure you know of it and promise I'll post more if I get any update.

Okay what does that have to do with agility then? Well for months now I have be talking about Agility in RSC. But more on that in a sec I want to get back to Day 23...

As no one was online at the time that I normally consult I try finding out via the Internet. I checked 2 places that I've found to be reliable(even if no longer maintain or updated) tip.it and Sal's Realm. Sal's had nothing on agility and I think tip.it might have at one point but as they don't maintain RSC tip.it the table which I'm sure would have the answer was sadly missing. It was later, after day 23 ended, that I got confirmation on the agility short cuts from two reliable sources in-game.

Again why is this bad? I found out something about RSC I didn't know before. Well...

You see I have said on numerous occasions that agility is an albatross it has no real use in RSC. (even going on to say there is no agility shortcuts). Nothing could be further from the truth. While there isn't much in the way of agility in RSC there are still places that its needed. This would be fine if this blog was just a "what I did today" type blog but it's not. It's one of the few places on the web that gives accurate and informative information on RSC that's is maintained and updated on a regular bases.

Nothing is worse in my opinion then spreading misinformation especially one as big as this. I'm sure I'll make more mistakes in the future but I will take any and all measures that something this big will not happen in the future(I'm sure I will get some false information but something this big was inexcusable). I'm truly sorry for spreading this misinformation for as long as I have. Further more I'm updating all blog entries and videos that have this misinformation so that it no longer has them.

Maybe it is to do with post count. In my topic on MS combat, I just checked and I can edit the topic title. You should ask an admin what post count you need to change the topic title.

What I did today:
Another short day it seems... and not its not that I'm getting into a rut its just very poor sleep as of late... enough about irl issues lets dive into RSC...

Decided to get one of my last single digit skills to double digits so I went and cut some logs near the Draynor bank(I logged in at the bank)got 2 woodcutting lvls getting an inventory logs while I was at it.

I fletch those into short bows and gain a flecthing lvl.

While I was there I noticed something interesting: In RS2 the jail guards are aggressive to a certain lvl (they were always annoying me) in RSC oddly they are not as you can see in this pic they are not attacking me even though in rs2 they would attack a lvl 21:

Anyway I sold the short bows at the Lumby general store and decided to stay there until I reached 10. I gained 2 flecthing and 4 woodcutting lvls.


I next went off to Seer's to do some flax spinning (I should have thought of this before starting fleching but too late lol) I picked 60 flax for 2 crafting lvls.

By the way, the spinning wheel was in a way different spot then it is in RS2 of course that was the case with the Lumby spinning wheel as well...

Bots I hate bots was in Lumby and every time I turned around this is what I hear:

I was so angry when I learned they had taken away my RSC account when I came back from quitting. :C

Can you use RSC on RS2?

You can use the same account names but skills don't transfer.

That sucks

Your rs2 account is tied tho minimally to your rsc account and vise verse at one point you could still talk between the games. Skills don't transfer neither do items only your friends list

Days Between Days
If someone read my blog from start to finish they would know that I played RSC a total of 24 times. That's playing it that doesn't count anything else. On at least 3 other occasions I went into RSC and did a blog entry: 2 comparison videos and a Christmas caroling video. This entry will now cover anything else.

If I go into RSC outside of Blog days the the already mention exceptions it usually to chat on a few occasions I was given some free stuff. You may know about my game WAI-HD (Where Am I HD?) However, for a short while I had a classic version ... So there was on occasion I went in to get a supply of WAI pics for the Classic version.

AS for the chatting and free stuff read on...

After finishing Day 24 I got a "call" from a good RSC friend. He wanted to take me out bot hunting I agreed. Before you ask (because I'm sure some of you would being dieing to know) I will NOT reveal his bot hunting techniques. The conversation was fascinating the one thing I will say is that he did confirm my suspension about something in my rants from day 24:

He was definitively a autotalker...

Before I left for the night he hooked me up with a bunch of stuff (he's always offering to help matter of fact he gave me the mithril sword I have now that I got sometime between days 22 and 23)


It's not uncommon for me to enter into RSC to chat with friends like Midlifcrisis or Cremeans0 aka studies101 on occasion I get some free stuff from Midlifcrisis. I once went into RSC to help Cremeans0 on some sort of project (RSC related quest in RS2 to deal with RSC Cape.)

Another possible Day between Days is a upcoming event in RSC that Cremeans0 is working on...

Usually its not worth the effort and time to blog these usually very short trips into RSC or in the case of chatting who would interested in small talk? But it's only fair to let you in on some of my smaller exploits into RSC.

RSC Interview: Ore Sabre
Interview with long time RSC player Ore Sabre.

I did this in a series of pms on a forum site we are both a part of with because our differing schedules This is my first "interview" so it going to really show but hopefully it will be enlightening for you. As I didn't want to do linear questioning(its harder doing this via forum pming if I do an in-game interview it will be linear and in order) the questions are organized by subject if possible...

Ax: How long have you been playing?

Ore: Since about a year after it started I think - pretty sure I'm in first 1000 players list

Ax: Wow you definitely are a vet of the game. Can you recall what it was like back then? Memories of the community, how the like game was and the like?

Ore: It was great. I can remember when addy was new and even owning a mith long was a huge achievement. You had to opt to pk or not pk - I always chose the latter. If you went for the pk option you could be attacked anywhere, although you were safer in towns, where the guards would intervene if someone went for you.

Ax: Have you ever played RS2?

Ore: Not really, no. I log in to talk to friends but never really play as such.

Ax:What was it like during the transition from RSC to RS2?

Ore: Horrible. Lots of friendships were put under strain because of people making different decisions about which to opt for. Playing RS2 was almost impossible because my comp was so old I was in a permanent state of lag. My stuff was transferred there with the automatic transfer but I took it back to RSC, which I've never regretted as I deeply dislike RS2!

Ax: What is your take on the condition of RSC at this time?

Ore: It's a shame it's been so neglected and I really wish people were allowed back in. In some ways having so few players reminds me of the intimacy of the game in its infancy - but it's not pleasant having so many autoers around.

Ax: What do you think of Jagex reopening RSC to new people using servers with "cheats"?

Ore: Not a fan.

Ax:Do you recall what happened during the Party hat duplication glitch? What was it like for you during/after that?

Ore: Yes, it was weird. I bought my red hat for a million and was lucky that it didn't disappear, as some did. I also got a pink hat for Crone Sabre round about that time. There were tales of hats vanishing from people's banks, and there was no way of knowing if what you bought was the real thing or not. It did send the prices of pinks plummeting, though. Previously they'd been the most expensive (mine was 10 mill, which was a lot then) but since the hat glitch they've never regained that status.

Ax: What was the most exciting thing for you in RSC?

Ore: The Christmas Santa hat drop, and also the day the Wildy opened. Not because I visited it that first day, but because at the same time the Mine Guild in Falador opened and I had it all to myself because everyone else had rushed to the Wildy!

Ax: And one final Question: What is you hope to see in RSC in the next year?

Ore: I'd be happy for it just to continue. There's a group of legits who still play - me, [Midlifcrisis], Martinfin and a few others, and I'd like that group to expand. More auto bans would be good but I doubt it will happen. Other than that I'm happy playing as I am!

What I did today:
Another "short day" at least writing wise the day was a long one due to agility...

I'm getting tired of only being able to make bronze items so today I decided to get to lvl 15 smithing. I was luckily in Varrock when I logged... I calculated that I needed 33 bars smelted and smith to reach 15 smithing. I got it in exactly 1.5 loads for both tin and copper...(had only 22 spaces I seem to be lucky in that regard) I got 2 mining lvls mining the ore I needed.

I then headed to Fally to smelt and got 1 from smelting and 2 from smithing kite shields.

I then sold them for 199 gp.

I really don't like grinding but some skills really need to be grinded otherwise they never get done... agility is diffidently one of those skills...

I went to the Gnome Agility Course until I reached lvl 20

(only needed about 3k experience) and it took over an hour to do it (1 min 25 sec average lap time; approx 36 laps) Argh... hated it, I hope it is worth it...

What I did today:
Today was interesting... First time I've ever seen 4 friends online in RSC. Had three conversions going at once and with the chat system not as "refined" as in RS2... I made my first pm to the wrong person lol. Anyway...

Headed to Ardy to get 2 thieving lvls from the cake stall.

I ran into Cremeans0 while I was there and it will not be the last time either...

Next I decided to rid myself of 60 bow strings that were sitting in my bank so I headed to the Seers/Catherby area to chop the wood I needed to make the bows and to get an inventory of logs for the RSC RAMPAGE. While I was in the middle of it ran into midlifcrisis (running into a lot of people I know lol) Apparently he was in a middle of something when he watched a lvl 5 character try and go over White Wolf Mountain. Anyone what to take a guess what happened? We tried to get back his stuff to no luck. Asked a few people in Lumby if they saw a lvl 5 around with no luck. Unfortunately we suspect that the person logged after dying. I ended up with the stuff got rid of most of it as it was the typical noob stuff with exception of 2k gp and 2 marrentil herbs I headed back to Catherby finished the bows sold them in all I gained 4 flecthing lvls and 3 woodcutting lvls.

I then got an inventory of logs for the event and logged at the gate to the legends guild.

Rants for the day:
No way of organizing your bank ... took me several minutes to find my bows in my 2 page bank

Check it out: A small turnout which I think had part to do with the time of day and confusion over the time it started (we had heard there was to be some j-mods there...)
EDIT:Something has messed up the videos going to reupload them and see if it fixes the problem...
Edit2:Fixed... I hope.. the problem is with audio swap so there is no sound...

I know its been a month since the last update here at MSW but I haven't had any forum posts to make ( I have posting just nothing that I would post here). That hopefully should change I should have more forum worthy posts coming up. It hasn't helped that I have been having physical health issues that have made it difficult to do much in the last few weeks. I am doing better now...before you ask


Day 28 is the next request day so if you have a request for something that I can do in game(within reason) post the request and I'll do it on day 28.

What I did today:
I debated wither or not to do a marathon grinding day today on one skill(I think I've said before that I really hate grinding) but decided against it. Maybe I'll do it for day 29... anyway back to day 27. As I got a bunch of runes and arrows from midlifcrisis a while back(another one of those day between day type of things... might start using the blog's twitter account for those...) I decided to work on both range and magic (along with herblaw). I wanted to use the 4 marrantill I had(And hopefully get a level).

I wanted to range unicorns for the horns I would need this proved a bit more difficult. Why? Because of a difference between RSC combat and RS2 combat. In RS2 if a monster reaches melee range when your character is ranging you will continue to range; in RSC your character will switch to melee. What makes it worse is that it acts likes you have no weapon equipped (even though you'll still have the bow equipped). I'm not positive it's the same with magic didn't test it out...I tried ranging the unicorns at the Barbarian Village with no success (no place to effectively range). I headed to Cammy next hoping to have better success there. I did, but it was slow because there is only a small area of the unicorns roaming area that I could shot them without my character trying to go around the wall to get closer. Got 3 ranging lvls that way and got the horns I needed.

I thought I had a pestle and mortar in my bank... I didn't. After buying the pastel and mortar I made the 4 anti poison pots as I was soooo close to another herb lvl(of only I had one more herb).

Next I grabbed runes for weaken and curse(wanted to only up my magic) and headed to the Lumby cow pins. Along the way I found where most of the online "people" were: all in Lumby (lot more bots then I've seen normally in Lumby at the time of night I was on...

Cursed and weakened cows for one magic level

before I decided to go to the chicken pens for more targets (3 at cow pins to 5 at chickens) got 4 more lvls for a total of 5 lvls gain.

I was so efficient(no EFU wisecracks please[you know who you are]) at the chicken pins that I got the 5 min warning lol.

You know with all that combat skill lvling I was expecting a combat increase... didn't get it... got to be close...

Finished off by going to the bank in Al Kharid don't know why I didn't think of going to Draynor... of course I didn't have 10 gp on and had to steal ... I mean acquire it from a helpful man in Lumby. While I was heading the mass of botters moved to a odd spot(at least for me it was).

I then ended the day in the bank in Al Kharid(by the way part of the reason I made such weird trips is for something I'm working on...)

Rants for the day:
If you fail a magic spell you have to wait 20 secs to cast another spell this got to be very annoying and irritating very fast

My first account on runescape: arcade marin, was made in 2005 and right after that 2005 xmas event (with the yoyo) I found RSC, and was lucky enough to make an RSC account.
arcade marin got hacked off me in early 2006, but I somehow got it back a month ago.

so, I'm just lucky that I now have an empty RSC account to start on :)
but thats more membership cash I have to pay...

ouch... glad you got it back... welcome to the few the proud the Never Leveled RSC Accounts Anonymous(NLRSCA) lol unless the hacker went into rsc which is possible... I might be able to find out without you going into RSC... well only if the hacker was a bot lol

you gave me the first request about the Dragon attacking with fire lol...I really could use requests that take some time to do... the whole Quality over Quantity type thing... especially since I may not be able to find someone with low enough Combat online to do the winning a fight in the wildy...(never mind trust)
