Anyone here ever heard of Mabinogi?

I played it awhile back when it was first released in English but quit after a week. I was bored today so I decided to try it out again.

So far I'm enjoying my time in game. It is a different kind of game, not the usual Asian Grinder (although I do believe there is quite a lot of grinding). The combat is pretty good, though, a little better than the norm. There are also many different skills to try out.

If you're interested, check out the site here.

I tried it, it isn't that bad. Its just hard to play on a laptop that isn't yours because you can't use it all the time. :P
And of course I use a mouse on it, those laptop touch thing is annoying.

Mabinogi would be better, at least from a free player's point of view, if character advancement did not depend so much on the limited amount of ability points, which paying players have crucial access to through rebirths. After the free points from 18- birthdays and quests, free players are limited to one point per level, which can hinder one's growth. Mabinogi is unique in that it is the only Nexon game where character advancement is significantly affected by real-world money.
In any case, the tactics involved in battle, the composition skill, the customization, and the dungeon system are all creative and one-of-a-kind, and I can understand why many people enjoy the game enough to pay for it. There's still grinding, but it is lessened by the fact that you have to pay attention to the combat and hope your computer's lag won't screw you over.

Yeah, the problem with ALL of Nexon's games are the need to buy things from the cash shop; it becomes necessary after playing for a bit. It's one of the reasons I hate cash shops.

One of my friends is trying to get me to play this game. I don't really like Nexon's game installers since they take a tad bit too long. Last time I tried installing one of their games (think it was MapleStory), it wouldn't load right and then I was really mad. >:(

I heard Mabigoni allows you to compose your own music - is this true?

Yes. Some of the music people make is just amazing, check ikt out with Youtube.

Mabinogi is a game that just has fantastic music everywhere. Whether it be people playing it or the automated music from the game, it's very good.

i might give it a go, thanks!

I am not playing it anymore. The grind in this game is so anti RWT is not even funny. But I do like some of the ways they combat against bots, like dropping the item you are trying to get.

looks fun, going to give it a try.

I tried it pretty good; still going to play MS though.
