Hey, so I asked for an idea of something to make, and I got the suggestion to make a Stellar Dawn banner.



Feel free to give suggestions or comments on it. I don't consider it done or near to perfect.
the more specific you are, the easier it will be for me to improve it.

Rule of thumb: Always save as a .png

Nice idea, the text is messy though, so fix that up.

The words are kind of blocky but it's decent.

the words were the hardest part
I was getting lazy so i used a text generator online, but they all came with standard white or black backgrounds. So i had to go in on paint and erase everything around the words and the copy and paste on to the original drawing. I do have a saved copy of everything without the words though, so if anyone knows of an easier way to get nice looking text with a transparent background (without using photoshop), that would be cool.

ok, well i was trying to fix the bad text when i figured that it didnt fit well anyways. (i didn't like the chrome color next to the colors of the planet.) So i changed the text completely. At the same time, i realized i had Ulead GIF animator (what i had used to make my avatar) so i plugged the stuff in there and would you know it? it had the option right there to make the text have a transparent background :P well newho, now my speech is done.


Once again, id love to hear any critiques about this.

That's definitely a lot better.

I think the mech's lines need to be sharpened a bit, it's still kind of blurry.

ya, ill try to work on that. The problem is that the text is very sharp, so it makes the planet and mech look blurry in contrast.

well it not bad but i don't really think the mech matches with the sun and the font
otherwise it nice =)

The mech doesn't seem to belong with the background, try to find something else. I like the background and the text is pretty cool too, but find someway to blend it in better with the background.

Ya, I agree with the comments about the objects fitting together. The thing is that I made a forum asking people to give suggestions on what I should make next and the suggestion i got was make a banner with a mech and a suncrest and the words Stellar Dawn. So it is a bit of a mess, but thats what the suggestion was to make. Ill make a different version without the mech on the side and just the words above the suncrest. Also, now that I have figured out how to work with the text better, I will blure the edges of the text a bit to fit the suncrest.

edit - the reason the mech looks as it does (rather blocky) is because Ren suggested the mech be based off a picture of a mech on a shirt.
