Thanks to the diligent effort of you, users of MechScape World, we are now free from the crushing control of the intergalactic pliigi. It has been one hell of a few days, seeing the eggs grow up to be overlords, with gnashing teeth and very scary "death metal" voices. How could those cute things do that to us!

We've found out what the Pliigi don't like - Paris Hilton. That is quite understandable. The Pliigi are not immune to the many thousands of viruses found in that humanoid specimen.

Well, to be quite redundant, this was all an extended April Fools that kind of got a little wild! We could have rickrolled you, we could have turned the banner upside down, but the thought was that a lot of questions are left unanswered in MechScape - one of the highest is "what is a pliigi?" We've seen "pliigi" mentioned in Darren B's art, and as a playable character in the game, but what is it? The art suggests it is an aquatic humanoid, perhaps amphibious and slug-like. So? Let's run with it. Since the "pliigi" is an unknown creature, there is no harm in any sort of fan-inspired artwork.

And I just plain love making events that get everyone involved.

So to answer some very important and persistent questions, I will appease you.

Does this have anything to do with MechScape?
The only tie this has to MechScape is the name "pliigi", which may or may not be trademarked by Jagex or Darren B, so I hope they don't sue me. The concepts were all my own.

Who did all the art and effects?
The art and most of the avatar changes were done by me. Ren is responsible for the scary voice you heard. You can thank MC for constructive criticism on the forms, and give a big thanks to the moderators for going with it! All of this was done at last-minute.

Again, this event had nothing to do with MechScape, the game, or Jagex. It was all created by imagination. Who knows what Jagex is thinking? Or what Darren B is thinking. Maybe the "pliigi" turns out to be another word for Human in the game, who knows. All we did was take the idea and run with it, and we hope no Darren B's were injured in the making of this very enjoyable event.

Since this event has been majorly successful, the moderators and I think that it would be mean not to give all participants a user badge in remembrance.

There was a scary voice that played when you clicked the Pliigi on the top of every page. It was voiced by Ren himself, co-staring Ren, and with a guest appearance by Ren, plus some filters.

Yes, I can get rid of the Paris Hilton avatar and signature now!

it had me checking to forums every couple of minutes for updates on the pliigi all day :P
i switched to the gold badge, because the gold badge is much cooler than mine.

That was the best April Fool's event on a forum ever imo. I mean if it was only the eggs, then it wouldn't have been as spectacular, but man that was really thought out.

Heheh, it was indeed pretty awesome. Far more creative than anyone could have thought.

Everyone had a part to play which was great. And kudos to PC for the art; at first I thought an artist from Jagex had supplied it! Ren's voice was of course truly evil as well.
