Hey guys! I decided I'd start to work on a Mechscape trailer to advertise the site and inform people about the game. I need some ideas though, since I'm not the most creative person in the world. I need ideas! :)

Hmm. I don't know what your skills and resources are when it comes to video editing, but maybe....

[Begin with inspirational/low-profile movie-ish music]

{Either spoken or onscreen text}
"You traveled Geilenor and persevered against onslaughts of vile creatures..." [RS landscape pan and/or action footage of fighting (maybe a deep wave of the Fight Caves?)]
"You conquered, over all competition, in the various arenas of the Orb..." [fading in-out of different pics/clips of FunOrb games, namely multiplayer-competitive]
"Now, you will make a new life..."[pics/clips of various MechScape building art] "with a new beginning, and new allies..." [clips/pics of MechScape character and creature concept art(or anything you might find)]

(Below are different "ending" ideas, depending on how you want to go with the trailer)

teaser (kinda) ending:
{suddenly Stop music and footage}
{fade in text}"how will you control the future"
{fade in text(below)} "when you become part of it?"
{fade out previous text}

{fade in(below)} "Learn more of your destiny, at mechscapeworld.com"

regular (IMO) ending:
"The question is... Are you Mech enough?"[slightly increase music pace and show wider degrees of MechScape art, ex: a second of the "walking trooper" animation or other finished character/mech designs in the gallery & building interior designs ]

{appear(below)} "Coming Spring 2009" (or some release time of that kind)

Comedic ending:
"But this time, it's with mechs!"[Up the pace of music; add pics of MechScape mech art; use of more exciting transitions]

The best I can come up with right now, being there isn't much source material available for MechScape besides concept art at the moment. Let me know what you think!

I would maybe make a video timeline starting from when Ren first discovered about MechScape up until present day. That would be plenty for a 7-10 minute video.

Hrmm it depends of what you are doing flash? Animation? Rs vid? But anyway heres my idea

'begins in underground setting'
RuneScape dwarf miner is getting his last piece of oar in a wheelbarrow.
He wheels the bright green ore to a cart.
The cart rolls off into the mine, but gets off track and goes into the dark cave.
Some wizards are experimenting with portals. To their amazment they open one.
All of the sudden the cart comes rolling towards the portal There is a faint sound of the cart coming
Wizards are freightend at get out of the way.
Cart goes steamrolling straight for the portal
It goes off a small bump and bumps into the portal.
There is a flash and the cart starts falling
It lands on a grassy slope or plain *this is still happening downhill* This scene looks bright rather than the dark mine
The cart crashes into a rock and the bright green ore fly and land on a mech's head.
The mech is surprised he picks it up and looks at it
He stashes it in his pack and walks off.
(As he walks off there is a camera view of him walking towards a huge futuristic city)
He gets on some levitation thing and flys off. The Title "Mechscape" Appears at the end "below it says A new future awaits."

LOL for some reason when I read that I had a really deep voice inside of my head saying it to me 0.0

I actualy said that all in that deep Trailer guy voice :D
Maybe i could make something...

Since I'll never get around to it, I'll give you my idea. I suggest using the song "Chosen" by VNV Nation. The song is very droll but at 00:47 a radio-like voice comes and says:

"Order is shattered in a strange guttural tone resounded along the walls of the houses, which seemed dead and deserted, while, behind the closed shutters, eyes watched the conquerors, who, by right of war, were now masters of the city - of the lives and fortunes of its people.

In their darkened ruins the inhabitants have given way to the same feeling of panic which is aroused by natural cataclysms. Those devastating upheavals of the Earth, against which wisdom and strength alike are of no avail.

For the same feeling is experienced wherever the established order of things is upset, when security ceases to exist, when all that was previously protected by the laws of man or nature is suddenly placed at the mercy of brutal, unreasoning force:

This is one song that inspired me to make the banner on the front page, and I think it would work well in a 2-minute long theatrical trailer of the game.

Here's how to make it awesome

First: Add me to the trailer =p

Second: Add tons of bombs and explosives

Third: Have kwl space ships that destroy cities

Fourth: Have fats moving music

Fifth: Have a person die (Not Me =p)

And put them together and you have an AWESOME trailer.
