People are now allowed to discuss MechScape World on the RuneScape Official Forums according to a recent post by Mod Emilee on the Approved MechScape thread (QF 23-24-117-55498190, page 166).

I've now posted on the thread (p167), but please remember that the primary purpose of that thread is to discuss MechScape and not to be a promotional vehicle for MechScape World. So discussing MSW legitimately is cool, but spamming RSOF is not cool.

Anyway, I'd like to thank Jagex again for making this decision

Really epic, funny since a few members were muted because of "advertising" MSW.

I've now drawn Mod Emilee's post to the attention of the other F Mods, so you shouldn't get flak from any of my green-clad colleagues.

You may still wish to be cautious around silveries, just because I don't know what they've been told. The rules for these things do generally change in tandem, though.

Anyway, this is a really good step for MSW. Imagine how many users we would get if Jagex would officially anounce us in the RuneScape news section. That would be amazing, doub it will happen, but still...

A way to find out is to actually tell someone about MSW, and hope they report you. If you get banned, just appeal. If the ban stands, then you can't actually talk about it. If you get unbanned, it's allowed, and if no ban happens in the first place, it's allowed :)

It's still unclear whether or not we can mention it in-game.

I believe the rule about not talking about any website in-game or on the forums still stands, I guess they just made a special case for Mechscape World because so many people wanted to talk about it in the Approved Discussion in the RSOF. Great news nonetheless :p

I *use* to be a P-Mod.. Back when I played RuneScape, and it was made aware to us that the mention of RuneHQ was permitted on the game as it was approved by Jagex.. Now, I know MSW isn't RuneHQ, but as this site is also approved by Jagex.. I believe the same rule would apply.

I think you are allowed to use it in game, but do now go around spamming our name, it makes us look bad. I was as Mod MMG clan chat yesterday, and there were a few p mods, someone happen to say "go to mechscapeworld" and he didn't get in trouble or anything. :o

Another very surprising change from JaGeX's side. I swear the new CEO has a lot of input to these changes.

This is frankly very surprising. For years Jagex has had a word censor notorious for being excessively over the top. Then, one day a new CEO walks in and changes it all up? A few days ago, I logged on and saw people saying the ‘a word’ without being censored. (This may have been mentioned in an update and I might not have seen it.) Maybe it’s for the best though.

They want to make it clear runescape is not aimed for kids.

Yes i Believe you Misunderstood him....I am pretty sure he was talking about fans in general....If it weren't for us fans that play the game and the fans that go out of their way to create sites that support jagex Runescape and Mechscape then Jagex would not Exist....Hope that helps :D

Jagex is using MechScape World to advertise their new game for free, so naturally they would allow people on the official forum talk about it, but I don't really agree with it. They should follow the no advertising rule they created instead of changing it when it inconveniences them.

Yet they allow the advertising (aka discussion of) other games.

If there would be and E-blowjob, someone would have already gave it to Jagex.
