Post your thought on Oblivion, I just got it and love it. I initially made a custom assassin, but later found out that I should NOT have majored in speechcraft. SO then I made a mage-assassin, which is currently owning. The thing I love the most is that I had about 15 active quests in about 7 hours of gameplay. There is just so much content to find. The dark brotherhood quests are also very fun :D. only ib Oblivion can you kill someone with a stuffed moose.
So post your thoughts.

it's awesome, i guess I played it more than 700 hours all time... I always love to be a mage/thief kind of char, like a dark elf. :D

I usually play an archer/theif type character, I love sneaking around and dealing that extra damage. I've been thinking of playing a melee character, because I never really do in these types of games.

I love it, but it would be nice if more quests and things to do were outside the caves. I've turned lightness to max just because I hate playing without seeing anything. Plus, I don't like the zombies. Call me scared if you want, but I just hate all kind of horror. Therefore, my favourite is playing as a thief.
I got a bit disturbed towards the end of the Dark Brotherhood quest series, after you discover that guy's little morbid room at the (I believe) lighthouse where he worships his mother's head; he was the traitor who was hellbent on destroying the brotherhood for killing her. and the stuff past that. It really does have a good plot twist, though.

The cleansing part disturbed me, but the room did not. Did anybody bother to read his diary? It was insane >:)

Personally I believe the best part of the game is the quests. Most of them consist of interesting tasks, and there's always a good storyline to back that quest up as well. My favorite groups were the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild.
Overall Oblivion is my favorite RPG to date.

Anyone else played this?
I thought it was amazing. So much to do and see.
I'm yet to try out any of the dlc expansions, though I might soon enough.

Absolutely love it. I've been considering getting those too, but you might consider checking out some mods before you spend money. There is a lot of very cool user made stuff out there!

When it came out I decided to build my new pc to play it ... after spending around 2,5k pounds and building my custom computer (which at the time was pretty much the best out there ;-P) I started playing it and it was just beautiful, i got this mod which made every texture 10 times more detailed, I had every graphic on maximum and it just looked like real life ;-P
I loved the gameplay, quests, etc. There was something so good about the feel of the game, the physics engine was sweet too. Major flaw of the game was that it was way too easy? I mean did any1 ever die playing it? I played at hardest setting and always found it really easy.
Oblivion MMORPG rumours were quite big, not sure about it now. I played Oblivion with a friend once (like the two of us in the same world) using 3 computers, one as a server and the other 2 to play with ;-D. I don't see how Oblivion could become an MMORPG though, seeing as it is way too easy to lvl up skills, but if they sorted out their experience system then I'd love to play it online.

Yeah, the gameplay is for an RPG - not an MMO; which makes me question how they could do something like that without messing with the whole game.
I would picture it focused on PvP and interesting quests, but I'd be surprised if they even made one.

I doubt it would work, I would rape all by using my 100% chameleon robes (can't see me ;-P) and casting insane magics on people .... but wait ... everyone would do insane damage on each other because the game is so easy to level up ;-S it would just turn into a horrible blood bath. I think if they added more stats and made skills harder to level up then it might work.

Well, a lot of the stuff would have too be nerfed so that it isn't ridiculous as you described. I just like the idea of 100% first person combat with open PVP anywhere in the world. Darkfall is doing alright with this, but it switches to third person when you pull out a melee weapon and there are still a lot of issues to be smoothed over.

It could work, it would need major revamping and it would probably just be a Elder Scrolls MMO as oposed to just oblivion, allows them alot more freedom.
