That is awesome another cool picture. Even though it wasn't as good as the first one. I see weapons! Cool weapons!
Okay, just improved the quality of the large size picture.

interesting, so you might have an actual person you control and a robotic mech?

That looks pretty darn cool :)
Are those screwdrivers on his belt?

Notice the level of detail put into the picture. Hopefully they can bring that into the actual game

Looks nice. Jagex is really getting closer with MSW

His outfit suggests being either an engineer or a pilot. Perhaps both.
I wonder if this is a major, or minor character in some form of the story lines, perhaps Hans the Machanist... or is this a regular engineer/mechanic that we will see many duplicates of? A human player's outfit?
Ah too many possibilities.
Stellar

The things on his side look more like needles, such as a substitute for Potions.

That's very nice. Well, it looks as if MechScape is going to be more steampunk than futuristic.
To illustrate my point. Steampunk:

Futurista:
I love steampunk, it has a really cool feel to it

I LOVE steampunk themes! A bit more than pure sci-fi themes.
Hmm, if MechScape flows for at least some aspects of SteamPunk, then... *sees magical fireballs and fantasy swords and old fashion outfits... with space pirates.. and Final Fantasy feels... and Miyazaki films...*
Dangit PC! Now I can't wait at all!

Are those screwdrivers on his belt?
They'd be Sonic Screwdrivers, but yes.
QUOTE (PoultryChamp @ Mar 5 2009, 09:37 PM)

How did you get pictures of my birthday party?
Back to topic, awesome picture looks like we are mainly going to be focusing on human characters.
Thanks Jagex.

Hmm very nice of you guys at the castle!
Hmm the helmet has Goggles (Maybe flying involed with MS)?
Also do i see screwdivers? Mechinal screwdivers that is!
And the outfit seems to suit the Mech we seen on the other concept art work by Jagex... Maybe you get a Human and a Mech being to different thing, say Human repairs and works on the Mech while the human controlls the Mech to collect the items needed to make/repair the Mech?
Nice anyways Jagex i like it alot, keep them coming and fingers crossed for a nice realse!

Mar 5 2009, 10:09 PM
Yeah it does kind of remind me of Miyazaki's themes. I should pull out my Nausicaa, Howl's Moving Castle, and Castle in the Sky music. =D
Do do do do dooooooooooooooooooo ddddddddooooooooooo *Nausicaa theme*

Does anyone have any Runescape concept art pic that we can compare to their in game counterparts so we can get an idea of what the final thing will look like?
I know there was some summoning concept art put up as wallpapers and stuff so it wouldn't be too hard. I'm just at uni now so can't do it.
More OT: Awesome pic, it's great that Mechscapeworld seems to be building a special relationship with Jagex. All I want now is a release date so I don't have to refresh mechscape.com every 12 hours... (In case they release it just after midnight or just after midday)

Reminds *me* slightly of cyberpunk.

Couldn't find a good cyberpunk picture anywhere, so this has to do.

Looks awesome. This seems to lean towards the fact that there will be humans in the game, although it is questionable whether this is an NPC or a player model.
Thank you Jagex, it's much appreciated

Speaking of hi-def! Jesus Christ, the complete picture is HUGE! This looks great though. Do you think this will be an NPC or not? Personally I think that this may very well be the player's character. The fact that he carries "screwdrivers" and wears an industrial-type suit makes me think that he works underground or in some industrial place, going along with the Lava Harvester.

I found someones name or something on it.

Mar 5 2009, 10:59 PM
I think this answers the question of whether or not our characters are people or mechs.

Looks as if he's some kind of technician. *Brings mech into the repair bay for annual thruster adjustments.*

I like this new CEO, he sends us awesome pictures.
If the mechanics look this awesome, imagine what everybody else's gear will look like!

Mar 5 2009, 11:25 PM
Great! I guess that's how we will be able to look.
This pretty much confirms there will be humans, and for me, confirms my suspicions that MechScape will take place outside of mechanized robots and ships, and you'll play a normal guy. Said normal guy may pilot a ship or mech, but they're still separate entities.
This is really cool.

google-ing him tells me there is an illustrator by that name, although the graphical styles are totaly different

Woot, bugged them couple days ago if they plan on releasing anything else to MSW.
Imagine if that symbol meant the 31st or something, lol.
Idk they said they would be dropping hints.
QUOTE (Syphzar @ Mar 5 2009, 11:59 PM)

Ren, how are you recieving concept art - just through your email?
And if so, are they saying anything else?
Yes through e-mail (but beware of phishing sites, folks!), and I don't disclose Jagex communications unless they say I can disclose them.
Looks like a pilot to me.
Derk
Mar 6 2009, 12:14 AM
cool pilot... i mean, i would think we'd be pilots in Mech instead of adventurers

that's definitely a pilot.
the thing in the top belt looks kinda like an advanced type of grenade thing.
so there will be humans, not just mechs...
i hope that's a player character.
who the hell wears three belts?

Nice picture there.
But alas, when we receive more concept art, you only know that the release date of when MS will actually come out is farther away. After all, it's only concept art.

Mar 6 2009, 01:08 AM
If that's what the players' gear is going to look like, then that is freakin' awesome.

If MechScape were to be steampunk that would be really cool, but of course I highly doubt it. :o

the pic's sig looks like kol yoon to me...
i tried googling "kol yoon (korean by the way)", but all i found was a bunch of "yoon kok" and "kol boon"s' facebooks. but, a website called "freetoplay.biz" came up, and the article was top 10 f2p companies. jagex wasn't there. i did not see a "kol yoon" in the article either, but i just skimmed through it, it was reeeeeeaaaaallllyyy booring crap about friggin maplestory and perfectworld and crap.
