It's FunOrb's first birthday today! Jagex's second child is one year old.

One year already? My how time has flown. I still remember posting about it prior to launch back in 2007 (when I thought it would be funOrb not FunOrb). I wonder when Jagex will launch into the mobile phone market as originally envisioned, or if they have changed their mind on that.

It has gone very fast -- I remember being sat at the computer exactly a year ago. I checked funorb.com at around 2:55pm and it still had the coming soon screen. Then I refreshed it at 3pm, and there was FunOrb!

I'm sure they still have plans to enter the mobile market. It makes sense. The mobile gaming industry is huge - and as many people know, most existing Java games ain't great. IMO, it's just a matter of when.

I played on day one, got bored and was only recently revived with the glory of team arcanists - it's a great game for freeplayers like me and good for team play when you have good friends.

I wonder if they will hit 100 games before their second birthday.

Anyways, has it really been that long? Time has been flying by fast. Hopefully this year they will expand into the mobile phone market.

I would definitely be interested in something like that. I am sick of playing Tetris and Pac-Man all day. :(

Do you think Jagex will use the same time for MechScape? Anyway, back on topic: I have played a bit of Arcanists but not much. It seems like a bit of a ripoff of the early Worms games and others. But still, happy birthday FunOrb!

I think the exact hour that it will be released will not be of a fixed one on Jagex's side. I think they will just release it the hour they feel will attract the most web-traffic.
