Yesterday, February 16th, was a landmark day for Mechscape World. After a steady climb we reached over 3,000 unique hits on the site thanks to an unanticipated and very welcomed Twitter by Jagex themselves. We never expected to see special treatment this often, or at all, so this came as a complete surprise which we cannot guarantee will be repeated.

Welcome
We'd like to welcome all the newcomers. We hope you have enjoyed visiting our website and that you decide to stick around! If you haven't already done so then we encourage you to post an introduction in the Community Affairs forum. Registration is free and provides greater access to the forums.

Official?
Since yesterday my instant messenger has been filled with questions about Mechscape World and Jagex's twitter, asking if we'd be the "official" Mechscape site and suggesting we have officially "beaten" the competition. This is not true. Nowhere are we an official site. We are the first and original Mechscape fan site whom has put a lot of work in over the years researching the game, and we've run a clean ship. As such have a positive relationship with Jagex resulting in the Q&A, latest concept art, the twitter and potentially more to come - however we are far from official. Jagex did recently say that they intended to work closer with "good" fan sites, and we are fortunate in benefiting from this.

Stance on other Fan Sites
As previously stated it has come to my attention that many people believe we have bested the competition and as much as we love the attention, MechScape World is neutral on any and all other fan sites. We believe that competition is vital to keeping gamers properly informed with a wide variety of information. MechScape World has gone through incredible lengths to keep our information accurate and we are not vouching for accuracy of other sites, but we welcome the competition. In no way should members of MechScape World go out of their way to insult or otherwise shame safe competing fan sites, nor do we feel it worth your time to badmouth less reputable websites.

Statistics

• We managed a peak of 347 people accessing the forum within a 20 minute period (completely smashing our previous record).
• 68% of our visitors were new to the site (and we hope they stick around!).
• 52% of our visitors used Mozilla Firefox (and 6 used a Playstation 3).

Account Security
Once again we'd like to remind you that your password on MechScape World should always be different from the passwords you use on RuneScape/FunOrb, and your other favorite websites! This is as vital to your own security as it is our own. We also want to remind you to keep your passwords long, complicated and safe and to beware of fake MechScape beta scam sites.

id like to say well done, i mean iv been checking this site everyday, im on here a few hours a day reading and looking up stuff to give me more answers of when and what mechscape will be about, iv heard rumors and truth. i just want to say thanks for the information and i would love to become a member of staff at mechscape world.

This has certainly gone way past my expectations! I'm grateful for everyone that has put all their hard work into MechScape World and everyone else who visits. It wouldn't be possible without everyone working together! No matter how little or much you have given to the community I thanks you to make this possible. I really hope this trend continues as MechScape World gets better and better each day!

This is a great achievment for everyone in the staff. I'm happy for MechScape World, and I've only been here about 20 mins!
